Casie Bock pleaded guilty to accessory to a crime in September 2023 after police found Karl Beaman Jr.'s body beneath her apartment building in Aurora, Colorado. Charges of witness or victim intimidation and tampering with a deceased human body were dismissed. A 2025 report put her sentence at four years in a deferred sentence; other reports described only a deferred judgment. She was not charged with or convicted of killing Beaman.

Haskel Leroy Crawford pleaded guilty in March 2025 to second-degree murder with a sentence enhancement for a violent crime causing death. The first-degree murder and tampering counts were dismissed. On Thursday, April 17, 2025, he was sentenced to 30 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections, consecutive to a 16-year sentence he was serving for an unrelated aggravated robbery in Jefferson County.

Bock was 29 in April 2023 and lived with her children at the Red Sky Condos in the 14600 block of East 2nd Avenue. Court documents described Crawford, then 38, as the father of her children and said they had been in a relationship. She had filed two child custody cases and a restraining order against him, but let him back into her life after earlier domestic violence incidents. One report described him as her ex. Beaman, 36, was Crawford's long-time friend, according to the district attorney. His mother, Kyla Dubberstein, reported him missing to Aurora police and started a Facebook page to find him. She had not spoken with him since May 2022.

According to the arrest affidavit, Bock said Crawford told her Beaman was a police informant. She said she returned from work one day between May and September 2022 and found Beaman on the floor with a white plastic bag over his head. Crawford told her he had "killed Karl" to protect their family, she said. She said he forced her to help move the body into a crawl space beneath the building, grabbed her arm and threatened her when she tried to flee. The two men reportedly had been stealing catalytic converters shortly before Beaman's death. Crawford was booked into the Jefferson County jail on September 19, 2022, on unrelated charges.

On April 1, 2023, a Facebook user messaged Dubberstein that Beaman was buried beneath Bock's apartment, under cement in the crawl space. Aurora police received a similar Crime Stoppers tip two days later. The message sender told police Bock had recently asked them to watch her children and said Crawford killed Beaman inside the apartment and she helped with the cleanup. On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, detectives executed a search warrant, removed plywood screwed, bolted and taped over the crawl space entry, and found a concealed grave under concrete.

Police arrested Bock that day. Detectives' statements on the recording place her interview at Aurora police headquarters on April 4, 2023. Two Major Crimes detectives tell her she has a minor traffic warrant, read her rights and tell her they believe Beaman is dead and she helped bury him. According to the affidavit, she initially denied knowing what happened before giving her account. She said she locked and sealed the crawl space opening because it disturbed her, and did not call police because she distrusted the Aurora Police Department and the government. She was booked on a charge of accessory to homicide. Crawford, already in custody, was charged with first-degree murder.
