A Scioto County jury convicted Brooklyn Maxine Frazie on August 16, 2024, of aggravated murder and 11 other counts in the death of her boyfriend, Darrell "Scott" Donahoe, following a vehicle pursuit in Scioto County, Ohio.

Frazie, who was 41-42 at the time of the incident and trial, was from the Portsmouth/Minford/Shumway Hollow area. Donahoe, 44, was from the Shumway Hollow/Portsmouth area. His family described Frazie as controlling and obsessive during their relationship. The incident began with a domestic dispute on September 27, 2023. Prosecutors publicly detailed no clear premeditated motive beyond the escalating argument and pursuit, and Frazie later claimed the collision was accidental.

At about 6 p.m., a neighbor reported that the dispute had turned into a vehicle chase. Frazie pursued Donahoe's motorcycle in a black SUV from the Sciotoville/Minford area for approximately 14 miles into New Boston on U.S. Route 52, near a CVS. The high-speed pursuit violated traffic laws and endangered others, and some witnesses initially mistook it for a police chase. Frazie struck the rear of the motorcycle, causing Donahoe to crash and fall. She continued forward, dragging him about 58 feet under the SUV, then backed over him before bystanders stopped her.

Bystanders used car jacks to lift the SUV off Donahoe and attempted aid. He suffered 14 rib fractures, liver lacerations and severe internal bleeding. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Southern Ohio Medical Center, and the cause of death was blunt force trauma. Frazie had methamphetamine in her system and possessed Suboxone. No evidence of elaborate prior planning or evidence tampering was reported.

The Scioto County Sheriff's Office investigated with assistance from New Boston Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol after the neighbor's 911 call and the collision. Body-camera footage captured Frazie claiming at the scene that Donahoe had crashed or wrecked in front of her and denying intentional contact. She also said she was trying to catch up to warn him about a lowered kickstand while they were heading to dinner.

Multiple eyewitness accounts, surveillance footage and physical evidence documented the aggressive pursuit, rear-end strike, dragging and backing over. Accident reconstruction confirmed Donahoe was upright on the motorcycle when he was struck, contradicting Frazie's account. Toxicology showed methamphetamine in her system, while the injuries and evidence of dragging also conflicted with her statements.

The weeklong trial before Judge Mark Kuhn in Scioto County Court of Common Pleas included about 30 prosecution witnesses and more than 150 exhibits. Jurors deliberated for less than three hours before finding Frazie guilty on all 12 counts, including aggravated murder of Donahoe, murder, felonious assault, inducing panic, attempting to leave the scene of an accident/collision, operating a vehicle while under the influence, operation of a vehicle in willful/wanton disregard, and aggravated vehicular homicide. Frazie was the only defendant. On or shortly after August 19, 2024, she was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 34 years. Donahoe's mother and daughter gave victim impact statements.
