WWE Wrestler Umaga Open Casket Photo.
Edward Fatu, better known by his ring name Umaga, was found dead in his Houston home on December 4, 2009. He was 36 years old. According to Houston police, Fatu was discovered unresponsive with blood coming out of his nose. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office later determined the cause of death to be acute toxicity due to the combined effects of hydrocodone, carisoprodol, and diazepam. Fatu, a Samoan-American, had been released from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in June 2009 after refusing to enter a drug rehabilitation program. He had a history of substance abuse, which is believed to have contributed to his untimely death. |

Re: WWE Wrestler Umaga Open Casket Photo.
The official cause of the Umaga death was released almost three months after it occurred. Dan Morgan, who was the supervisory forensic investigator for Harris County in Houston determined that the cause was “acute toxicity due to combined effects of hydrocodone, carisoprodol, and diazepam.” In other words, the Umaga death was due to taking a lethal mix of painkillers, muscle relaxers, and anti-anxiety meds. While rumors were that he had a drug abuse problem, chronic drug use was not why he passed away in December of 2009. Instead, it was because of a lethal mix of drugs taken within a short period. |

Re: WWE Wrestler Umaga Open Casket Photo.
That’s the real shame in all this. He was by no means a junkie, and took the wrong combination of pills and was found before anything could be done to save him. And despite being fired from WWE, people have come back after burning bigger bridges, and he was able to be successful outside of the company. Hell, he was only days removed from Hulk Hogan’s Australian tour. |

Re: WWE Wrestler Umaga Open Casket Photo.
It is way too easy to take a lethal cocktail of prescription medications. You start out taking the right dosage, it's not working, you add more and then take another drug and so on and so forth. And there comes a point where you just plain forget what you have already taken. It happens way too much and is damn scary. |

Part of the reason why I don’t take anything stronger than ibuprofen.
