The ideal position for the head is facing slightly down and to the right, towards approaching mourners. Facing up results in stargazing, where the body looks like it's facing the ceiling, and facing straight forwards results in mourners seeing the face in silhouette.

She was 15 years old when she died. She looks very peaceful, and I love how her fingers are interlaced around her rosary.

It seems she died away from home. There's a Polish grave website, and it says she was born and buried in Rybnik and died in Poniatowo. Rybnik is a large city in Southwest Poland and Poniatowo seems to be a small village in Central Poland.
