Re: Various Different Women Shown in Their Casket
Why would they? It will be washed anyways. Sometimes a clip is used to hold it up. The hair won't gain any special smell simply because of the embalming process.

Re: Various Different Women Shown in Their Casket
It depends. If the body had some service performed at the morgue, then typically a basic rinse at least. If it was just there for storage/transit to the funeral home (or wherever) typically no.

Re: Various Different Women Shown in Their Casket
It's not a US thing. The US has plenty of open caskets and other types of funerals. watch a documentary about death and burial. I used to watch Six Feet Under religiously and thought Michael C Hall was hot before Dexter. |

Re: Various Different Women Shown in Their Casket
I went to a girlfriends grandmothers once, her daughter ( my girlfriends mom) stood by the casket and kept asking everyone if they thought the dead woman looked good, if they had done a good job on her I thought she looked dead, and who really gives a fuck when they are that old and dead? I find open casket very strange. No, I DO NOT want to see the body, I wish to remember them in better times. The ones I have seen have haunted me ever since, knowing that they have been cosmetically arranged with jaws tied shut and eyes waxed shut etc, etc. There will be no viewing of my corpse, there will be a party to celebrate my life, with all my favorite things and photos with friends and family on display. |
