Thank you, lost my mum 12.24.2011. Its rough. Something she told me before she died..."some people may not react to it the way you do. Theyre going to do things that piss you off" Never understood it untill recently.

My mom died on March 27, and it hasn't sunk in yet for me either. There have been a lot of "sucker punch moments" for me and undoubtedly there will be a lot more. Like when I took my dad out to buy a new TV and he asked the clerk how he should go about getting a second remote. Then he looked at me and said something like "I guess that won't be necessary now, huh."  We were there the night she died, but I think one thing that helped me was seeing her again at the funeral home two days later. She was to be cremated, but they gave us the option of going in to see her one last time. I took that option because she was always hooked up to tubes and oxygen and the thing in her upper chest for her dialysis, and I wanted my last memory of her to be without any of that shit on her. And indeed, she looked like she was sleeping. It's gonna be a rough year of firsts. But we'll make it. We have to. |

my friend had been mentally deteriorating from the stress of his mother having cancer. he is one of the strongest men ive seen around and respect him so much. it had to take guts to post these pictures. also, from experience, i know that talking about loss helps a lot so thank you for posting this and know that there are people out there who can talk to you if youre ever feeling down. be strong :)

To the OP: sorry for your loss. I will say this--if I posted pics of my dearly departed Mom, she would literally come back from the grave to haunt every waking moment of my life. |
