Korean Police Pull Out a Dead Body with an Excavator (2010, Korea)
The deceased (37-year-old male) is the murderer's uncle. The murderer (20-year-old male) used a tire wrench to hit the deceased's head during an argument with his uncle, knocking him down, and strangling him with his hands. He then buried him near a field. After the murderer was arrested by the police, the body was excavated, and the deceased was found at a depth of about 3.5 m. The problem began when the work was done with an excavator. The excavator operator had dug the ground carelessly, so the deceased's face, head, and neck were damaged, and all the wounds, nose, and mouth were filled with a large amount of dirt. Also, the left arm was cut off. This made it difficult to prove the murderer's statement that he hit the deceased's head and torso with a tire wrench and strangled him with his hands. The autopsy concluded that the cause of death was asphyxiation due to neck compression, and the court sentenced the murderer to 15 years in prison. |
