Jeffrey Silverthorne Morgue Photo: Woman After Autopsy, 1972
American photographer Jeffrey Silverthorne took this photograph in 1972 at a Rhode Island morgue for his morgue series, Letters from the Dead House. It depicts a young woman following an autopsy and has been widely reproduced in books about post-mortem photography.
