I think that's what's known as lividity, that's an area where the blood pools in a dead body, usually the lowest point. So he woulda died laying on his back. I think.

Its called levidity. When a person dies, all of the blood settles in the body. So whatever part of your body is on the bottom turns really dark like that.

doesn't look like after autopsy to me... why isn't there a Y incision? and why is he not on an autopsy table or in a coffin?(which is the only 2 places he should be after an autopsy+ freezer)
