This is a more complete set for this post. On March 19, 2022, at around 1:40 pm, Ekaterina Alexandrova, a 31-year-old resident of Saransk, Russia, decided to end her life by jumping from the 16th floor of a high-rise building. She landed on the snow. She was a mother of two small children, a boy and a girl. It is claimed that about a year prior to this, she had divorced from her husband, and possibly suffered from depression. She had celebrated her birthday fairly recently on February 17. A few years prior, she worked as a manicurist. More information can be found here (I’ve elided the photo with the child) and here. The latter page refuses to be archived on the Wayback Machine, so I’ve reproduced the text here in the original Russian just in case:

Фото: Соцсети По предварительным данным, примерно в 13.40 горожанка поднялась на 16-й этаж дома № 75/2 по ул. Волгоградская, и через некоторое время ее тело обнаружили на козырьке второго этажа. По словам очевидцев, женщина «провисела» там больше часа. Как стало известно «С», Екатерина Александрова проживала в этом же доме. У нее остались меленькие дети – мальчик и девочка. Знакомые Екатерины утверждают, что примерно год назад женщина развелась с супругом. Не исключено, что в последнее время она страдала депрессией. Родные Александровой отказываются от общения с журналистами. Известно, 17 февраля Екатерина отметила день рождения. Ей исполнился 31 год. Несколько лет назад она трудилась мастером по маникюру в салоне «Нурия» на проспекте Ленина. Затем работала у индивидуального предпринимателя ведущим архитектором.

There’s also another set of photos going around that have been incorrectly lumped together with Ekaterina. I can’t find any information about her, but the name written on her leg is Minaeva (“Минаева”), and the time and date are written as “30.09.20 23:55”. Evidently, they’re of a completely different person from two years prior. In the interest of clearing up confusion, I’ll post them here too. (They were meant to be the last six, but one didn't upload in the correct order. You can tell by the file names.)

Autopsies of beautiful people are tragically fascinating. It’s a shame modern culture at large no longer has a category for this outside of sadistic necrophilia and sterile forensic pathology. Modern presentations of death are either degrading or clinical. Of course, at the fringes, there’s The Anatomical Venus, tastefully documented by Joanna Ebenstein, who understands that internal anatomy is to be reverently admired.
