A 25-year-old Woman Committed Suicide Using an Air Compressor.
The deceased was a 25-year-old single woman working as a physical therapist in Korea. The deceased was found in front of a public air compressor installed in an outdoor park on an autumn morning in October 2020. The deceased was found by a citizen exercising in the park. The deceased was lying face down with blood flowing from her nose. An ambulance arrived and no CPR was performed on the deceased. An autopsy revealed that the deceased had swollen face, chest, shoulders, and abdomen. Her chest cavity was opened with a dissecting knife and both lungs were collapsed. There was blood bubbles in her trachea and a 1cm mucosal laceration in her left nasal cavity. The deceased inserted the nozzle of the air compressor into her left nostril and injected powerful compressed air, which caused the alveoli to rupture and caused an artificial pneumothorax, leading to her death. Before her death, she had a serious fight with her lover and complained of depression. No will was found at the scene of the crime or at her residence. According to the victim's psychiatric records, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and received hospitalization treatment two years ago. The victim's behavior before the incident was confirmed by the police through CCTV footage, credit card transaction records, and communications investigation. A few hours before the incident, she exhibited strange behaviors such as spraying a fire extinguisher while naked, purchasing an unusually large amount of items at a convenience store, throwing her belongings and purchased items, and walking around an underground shopping mall barefoot. Although blowing compressed air into a person's nose causes unbearable pain, she decided to commit suicide that way. Most bipolar patients have depressive episodes that are about three times longer than manic episodes, and female patients also experience more depressive episodes than male patients.   |

What the fuck kind of poverty stricken world am I living in where none of the public parks in my area have air compressors? I guess the next logical question would be why would we even need this strange amenity? |
