Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
A russian submarine went to the bottom of the Black Sea. Ukrainian defense forces successfully attacked the B-237 "Rostov-na-Donu" attack submarine in Sevastopol's port. As a result of the attack, the submarine now sank as on September 13, 2023, as a result of a Ukrainian missile attack, the ship was seriously damaged by a huge hole in the side. Later, it was repaired and tested in the water area of the Sevastopol harbor and attacked again and sunk. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
In Ukraine, tests of the interference-proof fiber-optic drone HCX are taking place. The HCX quadcopter from the German company Highcat is 100% resistant to radio frequency jamming and is invisible to electronic intelligence. It does not emit anything, it cannot be detected by radio scanning of the palate: all data and control signals are sent to the operator via fiber optic cable, which is a truly high-speed (speed of light) data transmission channel. The location of the operator of such a drone is also impossible to calculate. Highcat co-founder Jan Hartmann claims that the cable does not hinder the flight because it weighs only 250 grams, and that, for a minute, at a length of 20 km. The cable is so thin that it almost doesn't create a sailing effect, and automatically winds up in a coil when the drone moves towards the operator. Yes, you don't particularly fly such a drone in the forest, but in all other cases - the HCX can open/set completely new frontiers in the Russian-Ukrainian drone war. |

Arrived in Ukr.:The Oerlikon Skynex® Air Defence System is Rheinmetall’s latest solution for short-range air defence. With its open and modular architecture, it sets new standards in terms of flexibility and expandability. The Oerlikon Skymaster® Battle Management System is the control node and centrepiece of the system. Various sensors and effectors can be linked in a modular way in order to fit mission requirements. One or several medium range radars, such as the Qerlikon X-TAR3D® Tactical Acquisition Radar, provide the air picture, which is consolidated in the control node. From there, air targets are assigned to autonomous effectors via the Skymaster network. Besides the high performance Oerlikon Revolver Gun® Mk3, the Oerlikon Twin Gun® GDF009 TREO, surface-to-air missiles, means for active and passive electronic warfare and future high-energy lasers can be integrated. Such a weapon mix generates a highly effective layered protection shield against a wide spectrum of air threats and provides the necessary answer against saturation and swarm attacks in the future. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Ukraine is about to deploy an AI-powered drone swarm that can work together to destroy Russian tanks and gather intelligence. A Ukrainian startup says it’s on the brink of revolutionizing warfare with an AI-driven drone swarm capable of coordinated attacks on enemy tanks and intelligence gathering, potentially giving Ukraine a significant advantage in its war with Russia. “It’s the equivalent of bringing the steam engine into the factory all those years ago,” said Serhii Kuprienko, the founder of the startup. “Our core mission is to get robots to do the fighting, not humans.” These drones can communicate with each other, make decisions on where to attack, and gather intelligence “faster than any human could,” Kuprienko said. Before the full-scale war, Ukraine had around 20 military tech companies; now, there are 200. Many are focused on drone technology, which is expected to redefine future warfare. Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Alex Bornyakov, said that Ukraine has heavily invested in drones because of the disparity in human resources compared to Russia. “They [Russians] fight, they die, they send more people—they don’t care. But that’s not how we see war.” Bornyakov said that Ukraine is testing swarm technology with at least one company besides Krupiienko’s. He said that while the drones are capable of operating autonomously, human confirmation is required for targeting to ensure ethical and safety standards are met. “Technically, they [the drones] could do it by themselves,” he added. Kuprienko said that his drones could be programmed to recognize and shoot based on uniforms. However, he said, “We don’t allow it ethically and for safety purposes.” American expert Singer suggests that Ukraine may have already used AI to autonomously destroy targets. He mentions a sophisticated American drone system that identifies enemy vehicles, even if camouflaged, and coordinates automatic strikes. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
The Crimea based Atesh partisans have carried out more reconnaissance around Sevastopol during which they spotted two Black Sea Fleet Project 775 landing ships, one of which had previously been targeted by the Defense Forces and the other which previously belonged to Ukraine. The group reports that Russian forces have hidden their ships in bays among cranes and port infrastructure, hoping to save them. “We have detected two Project 775 landing ships in Kilen Bay, one of which is the Konstantin Olshansky, stolen from Ukraine in 2014,” the partisans said in a statement published on Tuesday, August 6. The photos released by Atesh clearly show two Russian landing ships at the pier, including the Konstantin Olshansky. The partisans pointed out that half of the Black Sea Project 775 ships have already been destroyed by Ukrainian forces. “We have passed all collected information to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and there is no doubt that soon more of the enemy's ships will sink,” they added. |

On Sunday, a large fire broke out near an oil depot near the city of azov in the russian rostov region, which has not been extinguished. This is reported by the russian media, UNN reports. Around noon, a fire broke out in the town of azov near an oil depot. According to the local Ministry of Emergency Situations, garbage and tires caught fire in an open area, causing the fire to spread to the warehouse. However, residents on social media say that the fire was caused by a drone attack. The total area of the fire is 5 thousand square meters. About 120 firefighters are trying to extinguish it. The authorities claim that the oil depot did not catch fire. However, heavy black smoke can be seen from a distance of many kilometers. It was necessary to take air samples to understand the concentration of toxic substances. In occupied Luhansk, 12 explosions occurred and a fire broke out at a machine-building plant. According to the head of the Luhansk RMA, the occupiers repair and store military equipment at this facility. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
The current situation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation: Russian soldiers declare that Ukrainian military occupied the settlements of Mykolayevo-Daryino, Daryino and Sverdlykovo in the Suzhan district. In general, the Ukr. military is allegedly already present in 11 Russian settlements and has advanced to a depth of 15 km, occupying a width of 10-11 km. Putin convenes the Security Council regarding the situation in Kurshchyna. However The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation initially stated that the "Ukrainian DRG retreated to its territory" after an alleged attempt to break through the Kursk region, while the Russian forces are attacking the Sumy region. Sumy OVA reported the downing of a Russian helicopter over the region in particular. ▫️Even later, the Russian agency deleted the information about the "withdrawal", and the regional authorities stated that the situation on the border remains tense, but "controlled". Videos of interrogations of Russian servicemen who say they were captured in the Kursk region have also appeared. A number of Russian Telegram channels identified some of them, but the Russian authorities did not officially announce this. Videos of today's alleged attacks were also distributed on social networks. There was no material with the Ukrainian military there. Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, did not confirm or deny Ukraine's involvement in these events on Radio Liberty. Sources of the NV publication in GUR also refused to comment on the topic of the "breakthrough". |
