Obituaries have been found for Airborne Lieutenant Colonels Pavel Maletsky and Valery Tereshchenko - who respectively held the positions of commander of an engineering battalion and chief of communications of the 76th Airborne Division, which was considered the elite of the russian Armed Forces.

Given that the 76th Division is located near Kursk, and the date of death is indicated as December 30, the russian Officers Killed in Ukraine project believes that the lieutenant colonels were destroyed during a Storm Shadow missile strike on a bunker in Lgov.

It is quite possible that other high-ranking officers were in the bunker with them. Interestingly, Tereshchenko is already the second chief of communications of the 76th Division to be destroyed by Ukrainians - his predecessor, Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Nikulin, was eliminated in November 2022.

I think the attack is not a large one. There was some info about it and there is maybe 1-2 tanks and not even one battalion of troops participating in the offensive. Maybe they are just probing the ruzz defenses.

There are pictures of big UA columns, but it is hard to say, they are going to assault
