Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Zelenskyy: Russia has used a new missile that has 'characteristics of ICBM' Volodymyr Zelenskyy has claimed that Russia used a "new type" of missile in an attack on Ukraine today. "Today, our crazy neighbour has once again shown what he really is and how he despises dignity, freedom, and human life in general," Zelenskyy said in a statement. "He is so afraid that he is already using new missiles," he added. The Ukrainian leader said the missile was of Russian origin, and that it "has all the characteristics - speed, altitude - of an intercontinental ballistic missile". Expert investigation was under way to confirm the type of missile, he added. Conflicting reports have emerged this morning after the Ukrainian air force said Russia had fired an ICBM at the city of Dnipro. However a Western official suggested an ICBM was not used in the attack. This must be what all the panic and talk of Russia launching an icbm yesterday that I kept seeing Too the above. Yes Faust. That’s why I asked for proof as it was to me so far fetched that it had to be conspiracy theory. As of yet no proof put forward so the bullshit theory still stands for me at least. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Just google it. Its widely known fact. It was all over the news for years. Russia - US election interference. It has been investigated by many US security institutions for years. They uncovered trails of russian money flowing into Trump's campaigns. And i have no idea how you have managed to live on this planet for so many years without talking to russian bots online. There are millions of them. Not just paid real people who post pro-maga comments, but actual bots as well. You can read about this topic even on wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia...ates_elections And, keep in mind that what US investigations uncovered is probably only the tip of the iceberg. Most covert operations are...well...covert. They will never be found out. Also, speaking of Russians fixing US elections, you do remember that Jevgeni Prigozjin guy...Putin's shef? There was a video even here, on DocumentingReality, where he talked about how they messed with US elections. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/rus...ns-2022-11-07/ |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Putin appears to threaten British and American military facilities We can now bring you more comments from Vladimir Putin, who earlier said Russia had launched a hypersonic medium-range ballistic missile attack on a Ukrainian military facility today (see post at 5.24pm). The Russian leader has also said he could attack military facilities in countries that have allowed Kyiv to use their missiles to strike Russia, in an apparent threat to the US and UK. The British and American leaders this week agreed to allow Ukraine to use their long-range weapons on Russian territory, sparking anger from the Kremlin. "We believe that we have the right to use our weapons against military facilities of the countries that allow to use their weapons against our facilities," he said. "And in case of escalation of aggressive actions, we will respond resolutely in a mirror way." Attacking British or American military facilities would be a major escalation of the war. If such a strike were to happen, it could be the first time Russia has deliberately launched a military attack on NATO soil since the war began. Earlier today, Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said a US anti-missile base in Redzikowo, Poland, was "a priority target for potential neutralisation". "Given the level of threats posed by such Western military facilities, the missile defence base in Poland has long been included among the priority targets for potential neutralisation," Ms Zakharova said, according to Russia's TASS new agency. The military facility Ms Zakharova was referring to opened this month but it has been in the works since the 2000s, when Barack Obama commissioned it. Ooh he’s threatening to hit our military sites. And if he does that we’ll have to hit back. And then. And then and then |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
As part of the surge in security assistance that President Biden announced on September 26 to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position, the Department of Defense (DoD) today announced additional security assistance to meet Ukraine's critical security and defense needs. This announcement is the Biden Administration's seventieth tranche of equipment to be provided from DoD inventories for Ukraine since August 2021. This Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package, which has an estimated value of $275 million, will provide Ukraine additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs, including: munitions for rocket systems and artillery and anti-tank weapons. The capabilities in this announcement include: Ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS); 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition; 60mm and 81mm mortar rounds; Unmanned Aerial Systems; Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missiles; Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems; Small arms and ammunition; Demolitions equipment and munitions; Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear protective equipment; and Spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation. The United States will continue to work together with some 50 Allies and partners through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and its associated Capability Coalitions to meet Ukraine's urgently needed battlefield requirements and defend against Russian aggression. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Russia issues new warning to the West - and says hypersonic missile was a message The Kremlin has no doubt that the US understood Vladimir Putin's statement yesterday, according to the Kremlin. Putin's address to the Russian people, in which he said that Moscow had used a new missile in Ukraine in response to "Western escalation", was very comprehensive, understandable and logical, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. "We would prefer Washington to listen to the statements the Russian president made several months ago in St Petersburg," he added. The weapon used was a hypersonic, non-nuclear ballistic missile, which the Russian president claims cannot be intercepted by existing missile defence systems. He suggested that firing the new missile and Putin's address were a clear message to the West. "The main message is that the reckless decisions and actions of Western countries that produce missiles, supply them to Ukraine and subsequently take part in strikes on Russian territory cannot remain without a reaction from the Russian side," he said. "The Russian side has clearly demonstrated its capabilities. The contours of further retaliatory actions, if our concerns are not taken into account, are also quite clearly outlined." He also said there remained "openness" to hold talks with the US. It comes after Putin appeared to threaten British and American military facilities in a speech yesterday. Vladimir Putin says Russia will begin mass producing a new hypersonic ballistic missile it fired at Ukraine yesterday, according to reports. The intermediate-range rocket, known as Oreshnik, cannot be intercepted, state media outlet RIA Novosti quoted the Russian president as saying. Weapon systems like Oreshnik do not exist anywhere else, he said in a meeting with the defence ministry. "There is no countermeasure to such a missile, no means of intercepting it, in the world today. And I will emphasise once again that we will continue testing this newest system. It is necessary to establish serial production," Putin said. The Kremlin said its attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro yesterday was in response to the US and UK allowing Kyiv to strike Russian territory with advanced Western weapons. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said use of the new missile amounted to "a clear and severe escalation" in the war. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
A 1,000-page document which details how Germany would respond to a war breaking out with Russia has been leaked by local media. The document, named Operations Plan Germany, had its rough outline laid out by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. The outlet said it lists key commercial buildings and infrastructure that should be protected by the German armed forces, and offers local businesses tips on how to respond to war - including preparing replacement staff should migrant workers leave Germany. It also reportedly contained tips on awareness on drone surveillance, cyberattacks and other forms of espionage in local communities. Additionally, it detailed how Germany would logistically manage hosting tens of thousands of NATO troops should that be required. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Ukrainian military intelligence maintains that the missile is a new type of ICBM known as Kedr (cedar). They say it was travelling at Mach 11 and took 15 minutes to arrive from the launch site, more than 1,000km (620 miles) away in the Astrakhan region of Russia. They said the missile was equipped with six warheads, each with six sub-munitions. This assumption is backed up by BBC Verify's examination of video footage of the strike. Most of it is blurry or of poor quality, but it clearly shows six flashes against the night sky, each comprised of a cluster of six individual projectiles. The location that was hit is an industrial area to the southwest of Dnipro city. Some 80% of the missiles fired by Russia have been intercepted by Ukraine, an extraordinary figure. But these faster speeds of ballistic missiles are intended to try to bring that percentage down. Russian military expert Ilya Kramnik told the pro-Kremlin newspaper Izvestiya it is likely that the new missile, whose development has been classified until now, is at the upper end of medium-range missiles. 'It is likely that we are dealing with a new generation of Russian intermediate-range missiles [with a range of] 2,500-3,000km (1,550-1,860 miles) and potentially extending to 5,000km (3,100 miles), but not intercontinental," he says. This could put almost the whole of Europe within range, but not the US. "It is obviously equipped with a separating warhead with individual guidance units," Kramnik added. He suggested that it could be a reduced version of the Yars-M missile complex, which is an ICBM. Russia was reported to have started production of a new version of this missile complex last year which included much more mobile independent warheads. Another expert, Dmitry Kornev, told the paper the Oreshnik could have been created on the basis of the shorter-range Iskander missiles - already commonly used on Ukraine - but with a new-generation engine. An Iskander with an enlarged engine was used at the Kapustin Yar test site in southern Russia last spring, he said, adding that this may well have been the Oreshnik. Thursday's missile was fired into Ukraine from the same site. Military analyst Vladislav Shurygin told Izvestiya that the Oreshnik was capable of overcoming any existing modern missile defence systems. It could also destroy well-protected bunkers at great depths without using a nuclear warhead, he said, although there is no evidence of underground facilities being destroyed at the Dnipro plant. Another Russian analyst, Igor Korotchenko, told Tass news agency the missile had multiple independently guided warheads, adding that the "practically simultaneous arrival of the warheads at the target" was extremely effective. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room IV
Thanks for posting this objective analysis. It makes me realize how far we have come since the beginning of the conflict, when it was often believed that there were no more microchips and Russians even had to steal washing machines and dishwashers to even get some chips, leading to most experts claiming that Russia would run out of missiles soon. I am not talking NAFO trolls only, even Ursula von der Leyen with respectable publications like time.com writing it as well without any fact check https://time.com/6226484/russia-appl...ports-weapons/ And basically every major newspaper repeating it. |
