And this war will drag on for years..
and rooskis will still lose more than it gains.
The manpower, armored units, ammo, food, fuel.
It isnt worth what it costs them.

Then again, communism is never worth anything other than failure.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room III

Weird they choose to build a helicopter for this instead of a drone which is cheaper and easier to transport and assemble like this one: https://interestingengineering.com/m...opelled-drones
Could just be mockups.

Find out soon enough I suppose, but I do agree that lower cost drones can achieve the same amount of damage & would be a smaller target apposed these larger birds.

I wouldn't say that in the long-term perspective, Russia as a nation will weaken and lose more than worth. Reality can be very ironic, and I can easily imagine that the biggest heap of garbage inhabiting russia, such as elderly people with metal teeth and traces of gray matter in their brains; prisoners like cannibals, murderers, etc.; the biggest fools who willingly went to Ukraine in exchange for a pat on the back; those incapable in life/earning little due to weaker intellect - couldn't buy their way out of being sent to the front - won't all be in the russian social pool in 20 years, and their share in the genetic pool will also significantly decrease. Do you think that weakens the nation in the long run? The current authorities in russia are doing to russians what Hitler did to Jews - only those who managed to escape the whip, were intellectually smarter, healthier will remain. Sunflowers will grow in Ukraine from the rest, rats will eat them in russian barracks, they will die from hunger, diseases, and alcoholism. And the state itself won't have to pay so many twenty-dollar pensions every month, maintain prisoners - more money for 'Special Operations'.

"Zelensky is the most influential person in Europe 2023 according to Politico

Every year the publication creates this rating by analyzing European figures.

The ranking has three categories: performer, dreamer and disruptor, as well as a nomination for the most influential person. This is exactly what the Ukrainian president received."

UPDATE: "Security, cancel!

The publication Politico clarified that the rating, where Zelensky is recognized as the most influential person in Europe, is last year’s, and the current one will be released on Tuesday, November 28.

And Putin, it turns out, is last year’s loser? "

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room III

"Exports from Turkey to Russia of goods of strategic importance for the Russian army have tripled this year, - Financial Times

In the first 9 months of 2023, Turkey exported $158 million worth of goods in 45 categories considered “high priority” by the United States. This is three times more than for the same period in 2022, when a full-scale war began in Ukraine. The average figure for the period 2015-2021 was $28 million.

Exports of high-priority goods from Turkey to the former Soviet republics also increased, but the statistical agencies of these countries did not record a corresponding increase in imports. That is, the goods went in a direction that is not difficult to predict.

This raises concerns among the US and its allies about Turkey's potential role as a mediator. States and their partners may be forced to take measures to restrict trade, says an expert interviewed by the Financial Times."

The US and the EU have long been working to limit Russia's import of dual-use goods through third-party countries, with concerns specifically raised about companies in states like Kazakhstan, Serbia, and Turkey re-exporting sanctioned products to Russia, thereby supporting its military efforts, particularly in the context of the invasion of Ukraine.

Brian Nelson, the US Treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, is scheduled to visit Turkey this week to discuss measures aimed at preventing financial activities that may aid Russia's war efforts.

Simultaneously, the EU is reportedly preparing a financial package that includes measures to impede Moscow's ability to circumvent sanctions.

Bloomberg reports that 80% of Russia's purchases of "high-priority items" are coming from China and Hong Kong.

While exports from countries like Kazakhstan, Serbia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan have seen a decline in the second half of 2023 compared to the beginning of the year, they remain notably higher than pre-war levels.

Efforts to cut off the supply of sensitive goods to Russia have been complicated by the dual-use nature of the items, which have both commercial and military applications.

Turkey's reported imports of high-priority goods from G7 countries have risen over 60% so far in 2023, reaching nearly $500 million (€457 million).

The country, along with the United Arab Emirates, often serves as an intermediary destination for Russian entities seeking to exploit multi-stage import routes to circumvent controls.

Official data from Turkey raises suspicions, with significant discrepancies between reported exports and the corresponding lack of matching rises in imports in intermediary countries.

The gravity of the situation lies in the fact that the high-priority goods exported to Russia are reportedly used in the production of cruise missiles, drones, and helicopters, according to US and EU battlefield assessments.

Washington and its European allies have called on Turkey to take steps to limit this trade, as reflected in the US Treasury Department's recent sanctions on Russia.

However, Ankara has maintained strong diplomatic and trade links with Russia, pledging not to help Moscow circumvent Western export controls.

As tensions escalate, the trade dynamics could have broader implications for Turkey's relations with the West, especially as Ankara seeks to purchase American F-16 fighter jets while facing pressure from the US and Europe regarding Sweden's accession to NATO.

The coming weeks will likely see increased scrutiny and diplomatic efforts to address the intricate web of sanctions evasion and sensitive goods trade involving Turkey and Russia.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room III

This time it's a fire in a transformer.

Giant Fireball: Explosions Shake Russia.

In a tank factory in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk, there was a severe explosion late Sunday evening, as reported by German news website merkur.de.

According to Russian authorities, the explosion was caused by a fire in a transformer, triggered by a short circuit. However, on the same day in the morning, there was a drone attack on an aircraft factory in the city of Smolensk. The Kyiv Post reports that this was a targeted action.

Corresponding videos from Chelyabinsk show a huge fireball rising above the factory site. Residents reported hearing a loud explosion beforehand. It is still unclear what exactly was damaged in the explosion. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire was brought under control on Monday morning. Residents report interruptions in the electricity and water supply in the surrounding buildings.
