Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II

russ TG channels published a video of what is reportedly an inspection of the Sukra-Okran vessel headed for Ukraine last weekend by the crew of Russian Vasily Bykov patrol ship.

It is a demonstration of power. Russia is trying to raise the stakes before Putin's supposedly upcoming visit to Turkey.
Turkey warned Moscow to avoid further escalations after a Turkish-owned cargo vessel was attacked by the Russian navy last weekend, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s office said Thursday.

“After the (Russian) intervention, our interlocutors in the Russian Federation were warned appropriately to avoid such attempts, which escalate tensions in the Black Sea,” the Turkish presidency said, breaking a days-long silence over the incident.

The Sukru Okan vessel was flying the flag of Palau when it was fired on by the Russian navy last Sunday.

Russian pirates then boarded the ship to conduct an inspection, before letting it sail on toward the Ukrainian port of Izmail.

But Erdogan’s office came under criticism at home for saying nothing about the Russian attack.

Erdogan’s office pushed back against its critics on Thursday, arguing that it was technically up to Palau to respond to the incident.

“Even if the owner of the Sukru Okan vessel is Turkish, the ship is not Turkish flagged,” it said.

“In international law, it is the ‘flag state’ that is more important than the name of the ship or the personality of its personal.”

Palau is a Pacific archipelago whose flag is often used by shipping companies to freely access international ports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemned the provocative actions of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea. The diplomatic agency emphasized that the Russians grossly violated the UN Charter, the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and other norms of international law.

▶"We are sending more than 270 Vampire strike drones from the Drone Army to the front.

These are Ukrainian-made copters. They can carry up to 15 kg of payload. The military will use them to destroy both armored cars and tanks, as well as enemy defense structures, fortifications, or ammunition depots.

Each drone is equipped with a thermal imager, so it can operate effectively at night. You will soon see the explosive results of the work of these "birds" in the reports of the UAV strike groups.

The hunt by the Defense Forces of Ukraine against the occupiers will become even more effective. Glory to Ukraine!"

▶"Spanish instructors escort Ukrainian military personnel who were on military training in the Pyrenees."

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II

"21 tons of explosives in rolls with film!

The head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, told the details of the special operation to blow up the Crimean Bridge on October 8, 2022.

"I personally and two of my trusted employees were engaged in the development and implementation of the special operation with the bridge," said Malyuk.

He says that the SBU has been harboring the idea of blowing up the Crimean bridge since the spring of 2022. Various options were considered:

⚡ to transport explosives in freight cars, but the Russians forbade the transportation of any cargo, except for military goods, over the railway part of the bridge.

⚡in the end, they settled on the option with a truck loaded with barrels of oil, in which explosives would be hidden.

The kid invented a variant with explosives carefully wrapped in cellophane film. Such cargo - large rolls - did not arouse suspicion.

But we had to take into account one more point: at the posts near the bridge there are special EWs whose task is to knock down GPS coordinates on explosive devices set to a certain point.

The special service created a technically complex system, thanks to which the load of "film" flew into the air approximately in the middle of the bridge.

After the "first test of the pen", the SBU immediately began to develop a new attack on the Crimean bridge."

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II

Russian channel claims street fighting is ongoing in Robotyne. The information I am getting is that AFU controls most of the settlement and that there is very little Russian presence left in the southern part, if not cleared already.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II

Today, we took another step to strengthen Ukraine's air shield. F-16s.

These jets will be used to keep Russian terrorists away from Ukrainian cities and towns.

MinPres Mark Rutte and I reached an agreement on the number of F-16s to be transferred to Ukraine once our pilots and engineers have completed their training.

42 jets. And this is just the beginning.

Thank you, Netherlands!

However Rutte said that Netherlands has 42 F16 jets in total and he cannot yet specify how many will be delivered to Ukraine. We cannot yet indicate how many of the 42 F-16 fighters we will deliver to Ukraine ", said Mark Rutte. As the bureau notes, the Netherlands currently has 24 F16 fighters, due to be retired by mid-2024, with another 18 aircraft up for sale.

Denmark will donate F16 aircraft to Ukraine.
The government will donate Danish F16 aircraft together with the Netherlands.

Denmark will work for other countries to join the coalition and contribute to the Ukrainian freedom struggle.

"It makes me proud that Denmark, together with the Netherlands, will donate F16 fighter jets to Ukraine's fight for freedom against Russia and their senseless aggression. Denmark's support for Ukraine is unwavering, and with the donation of F16 aircraft, Denmark is now leading the way," says Defense Minister Jakob Ellemann-Jensen.

Together with the Netherlands, Denmark has spearheaded the establishment of the international training coalition on F16 combat aircraft. The coalition was announced at the NATO summit in Vilnius together with nine other allies and will ensure training of the Ukrainian air force in the use of, among other things, F16 fighter jets.

STATEMENT ON STRENGTHENING OF THE UKRAINIAN AIR FORCE – DONATION OF F16:

In light of Russia's brutal and unprovoked aggression, Denmark and the Netherlands, supported by the US, share the conviction that continued support to Ukraine is of utmost importance.

Taking note of the establishment of the joint coalition on F16 training, we agree that the natural next step will be the transfer of F-16 fighter aircraft. Donation of aircraft will be vital for efforts related to ensuring Ukraine a fully functional F-16 capability.

We agree to transfer F-16 aircraft to Ukraine and the Ukrainian Air Force in close cooperation with the US and other partners, when the conditions for such a transfer are met. Conditions include, but are not limited to, successfully selected, tested and trained Ukrainian F-16 personnel as well as necessary authorizations, infrastructure and logistics.

In parallel with these efforts, we aim to broaden our coalition and we invite other interested nations to participate.

We remain strongly committed to Ukraine's fight for freedom and territorial integrity.

He who has the high ground has a much better chance of success, that's why 99.99% of battles start with air support as it's the most critical element to control, the airpower that is, as having control of the air, or the high ground, ect, you can safely say that you're in a much better position to control the engagement or contacts & now that drones are big players in the field now, the highground is becoming less n less of a strategic necessity for Army ground forces combat due to the fact that the drones supply instantaneous visual & vital intel for ground forces, but the Airforce still holds a lot of sway with air coverage n success depends on this vital element in any hostilities that are taking place as you control the air, you control the ground.
