Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

Sorry I didn't know where to put this and didn't want to put it in the media thread.

"Today we say goodbye to Minister Denys Monastyrskyi, Yevhen Yenin, Yurii Lubkovych, and all other Heroes who died in the helicopter crash.

Pain is filling the heart. The indescribable sadness is covering the soul. Ukraine is losing its best sons and daughters every day.

Thank you for your important and decent work for the benefit of Ukraine. You are forever in our hearts. Eternal memory!"

✅ The Ministry of Defense's news agency has published the first photo of the German IRIS-T air defense system, which is in service with Ukraine. Last October, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the system was 90% effective.

✅An interesting modified Ukrainian drone.

✅The United Kingdom has handed over Sea King helicopters to Ukraine, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has said. These helicopters are called "submarine hunters" and are used for anti-submarine defense.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

Seems like Rus army started offensive in Zaporozhie direction. As of right now there is info that Malaja Tokmachka, Novofaniloka, Malinovka we’re taken. Rus forces got close to Orehovo and Gulyaj Pole. “Rybar”
OP: https://www.documentingreality.com/f...ml#post7803042

From DeepState:

In recent days, the information space has been blown up by information about a mass counterattack by the enemy in the Zaporozhye region

We managed to find out some details. There is no major offensive, there are simultaneous local attempts to advance with forces of up to 2 platoons each. At first, the enemy managed to push our forces to a maximum distance of 2 kilometers, but artillery and a counterattack restored the status quo.

It is interesting that even yesterday the katsaps painted themselves on the outskirts of Orikhov, and some even in the city itself, and today they claim success in the gray zone.

I highly assume the “90%” number is against aerial targets. It doesn’t say anything its effectiveness against apartment blocks. More specifically: avoiding apartment blocks

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

⚡U.S. will support transfer of F-16 fighter jets by allies of Ukraine, - U.S. Ambassador to OSCE.

F-16 fighter jets have the ability to destroy all flying aircraft over the territory of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
The United States expects that the allies’ initiative to transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine will be supported, the US Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter told in an interview with Delfi.

Answering the question whether the administration of US President Joe Biden is ready to allow the Netherlands to supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, the ambassador said: “We have long been of the opinion that what our allies supply is their business. And we support the countless contributions (to defense) that our allies have made for Ukraine. And this has been true from the very beginning of the war, when we discussed legacy Soviet systems, to the present period, when we discuss main battle tanks and more sophisticated air and missile defense capabilities and systems. And so I expect there will be broad support in the United States for our allies to continue to increase their contributions,” Carpenter said.

Earlier it became known that the Netherlands is ready to consider the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, if a request comes from the Ukrainian authorities.

At the same time, during an address to the participants of Ramstein meeting yesterday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the partners to discuss the possibility of sending the F-16 at the next meeting.

Its the right decision to just retreat from not that important towns and villages, rather than to engage in a meat grinding competion with the enemy and his endless hordes of drafted prisoners and mobiks. This also applies for the Bachmut sector. Wounder why they're not retreating, l expecially since the bulk of UKR troops seems to be concentrated elsewhere for possible future operations. UKR shouldn't stick to places just for their symbolic value.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

Kind of stupid to think that any kind of big companies would act otherwise, especially if they are owned by the government ( not sure in this case)
Rosatom is a "state" run nuclear power conglomerate but made up of many subsidiaries (350). I agree it's silly to think that they would not aid the government in the war effort. But the west, in typical fashion, is shaking it's "no no" finger at them for it as that is what is appropriate for one side to do to the other during war with an allied country.

It's like a step-parent disciplining a kid who they don't really like, who doesn't really like them yet they have to deal with.

The first paragraph from their "About Us" page:

State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM) is one of global technological leaders, with capacities in the nuclear sector and beyond, and business partners in 50 countries. As one of the pioneers of the nuclear industry, ROSATOM has traditionally been at the forefront of the international nuclear market, including nuclear power plant construction, uranium mining and enrichment, and nuclear fuel fabrication and supply. Today, thanks to the unique expertise accumulated over 75 years, the company is conquering the markets of new promising high-tech products. Hydrogen energy, energy storage, nuclear medicine, wind energy, composite materials, logistics business, environmental solutions - in total, more than a hundred new businesses, which cement ROSATOM’s standing among the leading tech giants. The corporation includes about 350 enterprises and organizations employing a total of more than 290,000 people.

GOVERNANCE
Strategies, policies and objectives of ROSATOM are established by its Management Board. The Director General manages the day-to-day operations of ROSATOM.

Director General: Alexey Likhachev - Before joining ROSATOM, Mr. Likhachev worked in the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, where he held a wide variety of leadership positions. He joined the ministry in 2007. He worked as an advisor to the Minister of Economic Development until 2008, in 2010 he was appointed Deputy Minister, and in February 2015 he was promoted to the position of First Deputy Minister of Economic Development. (Most definitely tied to Putin and the RF)

I was going to list all members of the management board and their direct affiliations with the government but their are 15 of them. While they all are currently affiliated with the government for being on the management board of a state run entity, 10 of them have direct ties to the Russian government through previous employment. 4 of them held no direct positions in any government related entity and 1 is unknown because his background page was 404.

The "Viper" is an awesome multi role fighter that gets the job done & then some. but I still have a soft spot for the "Tomcat" even though it's past it's time, so in this day & age I believe that the "Viper" would be a much better winged system to fight in this war as the capabilities offered by its design make it an exceptional aircraft for close quarters combat that is required in this war.
