Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

It's soooo cute!

"A light British reconnaissance vehicle Ferret mk 1 with a mount for an MG 42 machine gun installed on it, in service with one of the units of the Armed Forces"
if anyone hurts this, i don't know what i'm gonna do.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

guess this counts as "after action"

"An unexploded ordnance was stuck in the soldier's body

Doctors had to operate in body armor.

The patient was hospitalized with a penetrating chest wound. During the examination, it turned out that the ammunition pierced the ribs, lungs and got stuck in the spine - between the aorta and the inferior vena cava near the heart.

There was a serious threat that the ammunition could explode at any moment."

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

If Ukrainian forces can cut a north --} south swath to Mariupol, Russian held Zaporizhia and Crimea would effectively become an island. At least logistically-wise.

Since the severe damage to the Crimean vehicle and rail bridge, a huge amount of Russian vehicles, supplies and mobiks are coming through Mariupol, to be directed north into Donyetsk and west into Zaporizhia oblasts. The loss of this piece of land, say from Vuhledar to Mariupol, would be a large blow to Russian war efforts and greatly complicate logistics.

To a lesser degree, the same for Melitopol and Berdyansk. If Russians construct robust defenses in these cities, mass urban warfare should be avoided at all costs as it would be very bad for Ukrainian forces. Encircling these cities, cutting them off from supply and giving Russians an avenue of retreat would be ideal. But then shell the absolute fuck out of them when they do retreat, they may be able to reinforce other areas.

Also, Russia is building anti-vehicle "dragons teeth" east of Mariupol. This is very telling and shows that the Russians are preparing to exit more real estate.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

Famous Russian Milblogger/ Military Analysts Write (Rybar on Telegram)

By the facts.

1. From a military point of view, this is the most serious purely military defeat of the Russian Federation since 1991. In our case, this is already the 3rd serious military defeat after Balakleya and Krasny Liman.
Battle for Kiev and Battle for Charkiv at the beginning of the campaign. Those encirclement operations were repelled and they had to pull back there as well. Especially the first one was a major battle.

right as i read that the "push" around Pavlovka makes alot of sense now. that area is bad news to hold and lose.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room

Looks like the Russians really are pulling back. November 7th and today (November 9th)
Let's just hope that this pull back is just that & they all fuck off back to orc country rather than pull back, regroup & set up a perimeter only to start using tactical nukes around the Kherson area because they have well & truly been given a fucking hiding to say the least ! The way that I see it is, whatever their intentions are, the USSR has definitely fucked up & fucked over the Russian ppl as that country will suffer & they will be hurting from sanctions for decades.

IMO I also think that the invaders should have the sanctions imposed on them until they Rebuild, at least the infrastructure of the country to get the necessities back online ie, take their guns & give them shovels, metal detectors to make the Uk ppls lands safe again.

Then they can start rebuilding ppls homes as it's now, sad to say, nothing but a waste land with whole towns wiped of the face of the earth & nothing for the ppl who did evacuate to return home to. The ppl can't really get back to growing grain anytime soon to make some money & help get the economy going as their fields have massive craters in them, metal frags, mines & unexploded ordinance all over so that will take years to rebuild if they want to rebuild at all & for this I say,

Make the Invaders Pay !

While I'm at it, Hey Putin "GO FUCK YOURSELF"
