They should really go for safe ammo storages + blowout panels, like western tanks have. Or develop safe propellants like Germany did for their current standard tank shells (e.g. DM61 with L1 SCDB propellant). So your ammo just won't cook off anymore. Or combine both for the best result.

Its hard to grasp that the Red Army and later the Army of the Russian Federation never really addressed this issue. Wounder why.

Anyways, It will be probably very hard to produce these new high tech vehicles while under sanctions. You need alot stuff Russia can't produce domestically and China won't deliver. I recently read an artice that the tank production of Uralvagonzavod broke down to a fraction which would have been possible. All they can currently do is to re-activate soviet stuff from their depots.

However you slice the cake, Personnel & Explosives in a confined space isn't a good idea all round.
This war has seen the devastating effects of what Drone Warfare can do & IMO I believe that this will be the new arms race as for the costing of tanks vs the costing of drones is a no brainer.

Update on Kherson oblast offensive from Russian Telegram RYBAR. Looks like Ukraine went further and may have taken Kachkarivka. The bridge further south leading to Mylove has most likely been destroyed by Russians to slow the Ukrainian advance.
