Re: Turkish Soldiers Killed on Hill by Guerrillas in South Kurdistan

The Turks are the ones that obstructed EVERY effort we made in Iraq. The Turks are the ones who made us ship everything by air, and would not let the U.S. use their ports or highways or railroads.
The Kurds are friends to America. We should never have betrayed them by failing to help them establish Kurdistan as their own free country. The Kurds were our ONLY allies in the region during the Iraq war. We could count on them to recover our pilots, take care of our wounded, and they did everything the could to help us.
Turkey did NOTHING. The only Sonsofbitches here are the Turks.
And it won't be forgotten, either. The Turks shouldn't even be in NATO. They are aligned with the Taliban and Islamic State.
Turkey supported NATO in Korea and Kosovo, yet NATO did not help them in Cyprus. They eventually held back in Iraq just like how most other NATO nations did. Were they wrong in hindsight?

Did you really think for a second that the US had the Kurds back at any point? Do you think anything US did with them was done without Turkish collaboration? Take a step back and rethink, this isnt a romantic comedy its real life.

The Kurds are extremely weak, they have no state, they reside within autonomous regions or as minorities within other nations. They are divided between a bunch of militias. They have no economy. No industry. They have no domestic institutions apart from militias.

Turkey is a recently weakening regional power with an ass for a leader.

One is a malnourished ant, the other is a retarded bear.

Yes, the US might want to make some moves against Turkey, as their views have drifted apart more and more in the past decade. But even if this is true, how many malnourished ants would you have to arm and support to even slightly hurt a retarded bear? Much too many to afford.

It was obvious from the start that the Kurds would eventually be given up, they were just ISIS fodder. The way the US messes with Turkey is through economic and political manipulation, not through arming small militias to cause minimal casualties on its borders. Its not like these incidents end up in Turkish news, no one gives a shit. It has no impact on public morale.

You don't know what you are talking about.
The Kurds hold 45 BILLION barrels of oil on the land they control, which is nearly 1/3rd of Iraq's total oil reserves. They would be an incredibly wealthy nation all by themselves.

The Kurds are a united group, who voted for statehood with a 90% agreement in a referendum. Unlike the elections in Iraq, Syria, or Turkey, this election was open, free, and fair.

Turkey is a bunch of militias. Iraq is a bunch of militias. Syria is a bunch of militias. The the area held by the Kurds, both in Iraq and in Turkey, is a stable, self-administered region. That's why ISIS never managed to get control of that area. Because the Kurds kicked their asses every time they tried. And now they are doing the same thing to Turkey.

Our views and Turkey's have drifted, you say? You must be joking. For a while, they considered ejecting Turkey from NATO, as they worked against EVERY NATO initiative and project. The effort for this was led by OTHER nations in NATO, NOT the U.S.
I guarantee you, NOTHING in Kurdish Iraq was done with ANY Turkish input, help, or assistance.

Personally, I hope the Kurds declare a state, and then, every time they are attacked, they take 10% of the attackers land in retaliation, no matter who attacks them. That includes Turkey, Syria, or Iraq.

I've been to and served in these regions, and yeah, I have no idea what you're talking about.

The Turks are cleaning em up now regardless. Kurdish militia prescence in the region has been wiped out/nourished in a cyclical fashion since the 70s. They'll make a comeback later.
