Or depleted uranium shell hits. Say an Abrams shot hit a vehicle like that, some of the crew members can literally get atomised by the amount of heat and shrapnel flying inside the lethal tin can. And the shell doesnt even have explosives in it, the sheer speed combined with the extra-hard material causes that to happen.
