"It was released that the head of the department of the Tajikistan border services, Kamran Rajabzade, was killed during an attack in the province of Gorno-Badakhshan. Initially, security forces announced they killed the two attackers who entered from Afghanistan, both citizens of Tajikistan and most likely IS fighters. Note that they were joined by many Tajik-Salafits repressed in their homeland. Local sources also reported that two more attackers managed to escape; however, the authorities did not publish any information about the victims among the border guards.

Most likely, the Tajik government is hiding the total losses of this attack. In fact, this is not the first Islamist attack against Tajikistan while the Taliban continues to promise that they will not allow any terrorist attacks on Afghanistan’s neighboring countries."
