It emerged after the ceasefire, so I can only guess it's the result of these forces pushing more in, securing more area.

If I had known for all those years working with the Kurds that we would just pick up and leave them abandoned to fight muz on their own.. its humiliating because the Kurds are decent people. When you cruise through iraq and you compare Kurdish neighborhoods in the north compared to muz neighborhoods in say Baghdad, they are astronomically different.
