In the second video, you can follow the path of a large piece of shrapnel as it cuts down two or three men and then splashes down in the field, top left of screen.

The reason that they're abandoning their positions is because of the suicide bomber approaching. I wouldn't want to be standing around a position firing back knowing there is a heavily armored truck capable of leveling everything for 500+yards all around. What choice is there?
