Anyone who thinks the past 20 years of American occupation of Afganistan has gone to waste doesn't have a clue how the game works. The taliban work for America, they have done all along. America armes rebels in foreign countries then once the actual government of that country is destabilised, America grant the American armed rebels authority of that country so long as they do as they are told. The fact that America could wipe Afganistan out in a matter of hours with nuclear weapons should say something.
