Shock and vasoconstriction. It's pretty amazing the tricks the human body has, and what the body will do to survive. There was a video floating around, years ago, of a guy who was walking on his hands, because from the hips down was gone. He was ran over or something like that--but he lived! Because of the wonderful vasoconstriction. |

He's in shock, he probably doesn't or doesn't understand the seriousness of his condition. There's been people who have carried amputated limbs to the ER after an accident, and they'd be super calm and collected. Shock can be a wonderful thing; prevents unimmaginable pain (for a short while) and keeps you calm (for a short while). Self survival mechanism.
