Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VII
Couldn't have said it better. There are two exceptions to the pro-Russian members here. 1. Duntez. He's also thoughtful and rational. He doesn't run around beating his chest and believing the opposite of reality. Byla is also pretty cool. She is also reasonable and rational. I can have civil conversations with both of them and that means something to me. You know what these two have in common? They are both from the region from Ukraine. They just so happen to hold pro-Russian views for various reasons. They both get my respect.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VII
Happy Holidays to anyone who celebrates them. I, personally, cannot wait until they are over. A video related to the holidays I found.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VII
I just have to make a point, again, to thank you for posting the Russian sourced media. Not only is it a huge help in general, more importantly, you aren't interjecting your own personal opinions into it and describe your media like a 12 year old boy. lol You aren't celebrating death and seem to be sticking to just the information relevant to the video or from your source. If you do provide an opinion, it's expressed like a mature adult. Such a nice change of pace from what we've seen in the past from the guy who was doing it before... may he RIP. (He's not deceased, just banned. Anyway, thank you for that, especially.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VII
Yea no problem. I do, like everyone else, have my opinions about the war but there is little point getting in a slap fest with someone who is unwilling to see nuance so I just leave it. At the end of the day it's sad that anyone is dying and glorifying either side dying is kinda gross IMO. There is a certain someone who keeps disliking my posts which I find very juvenile. Some people act like posting different sources of information means you agree or support that info. It's quite anti-intelectual. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VII
Better to fuck off your posts than to bicker with you about it. Try not to pay it any mind. I might be a little jaded... I have absolutely zero feelings about anyone fucking off my posts. I try to thank your posts just for the energy and effort you put into it. Not necessarily because I like the footage. Having said that... take the Russian/Ukrainian bias' out of it... all of it is fucked up. Humans killing each other, doing the bidding of the powers that be and innocent people on both sides dying because of it. It's all hard to watch for me. But documenting both sides of the war is the most important thing so my personal feelings don't matter. As a contributor, I know first hand that posting can be tedious... regardless of what you're posting. I know I speak for others when I say that I appreciate you for it.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VII
I don't care what they do tbh. I just notice that it and... War is always full of lies both the participating governments. Both sides need to push propaganda to help motivate their populace. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VII
My opinion is that Pro-Russian posters have very little outlets in the west to post their opinions. Even a strictly factual representation of the situation on the ground will get heavily criticized on most sites. When they find a place that wont simply ban them for being pro-Russian, they are fed up and mad at the blood lust against their side and they act out with the same cruelty they have experienced elsewhere. They do this in spite of the fact that the place they are posting is not the people that they are acting out against. Humans are reactionary creatures. There was a sub on Reddit that was neutral but after about 6 months the Pro-UAF crowed started bombarding the sub with pro-Ukraine vids, disparaging comments about RUS soldiers and massively downvoting all RUS-perspective vids until the sub turned into just one more Pro-Ukraine echo chamber on reddit. While it doesn't seem to be the case here that is primarily a function of the paywall. Ironic that most people will feel quite strongly about a subject until they have to pay money. Then they tend to care a little less. |
