Basically, it's been super triggering to me and getting at me in a bad way. I'll sum this up best I can. When I got out of the Marines, I found that I had an inadvertent prejudice/racism toward Muslims. I didn't/don't want to be racist, so I have consciously pushed that part down. Then, this Israel shit happened. I watched a handful of the videos, and it wasn't good. For whatever reason, that stuff gave me those same feelings as if those Israelis were my friends again. It instantly brought back my hatred for Muslims, and it's given me the worst anxiety I've had in a long time. Not only do I want to negate the anxiety, but I also don't want to feel/look like a racist piece of crap on here because I most definitely would have done so. I don't know.. I know,it sounds stupid, but I'm not sure how the hell to fix this |

Just a quick note here. Hating islam doesnt make you racist. Islam is a religion not a race, and hating it is completely reasonable. You can also hate the religion but love the person. They are different things. My advice would be, try to draw a line between hating the religion of a person and hating the person himself. Most muslims didnt chose to be muslims, they were indoctrinated into it as children, just like people from all the other religions. |
