Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Actually no, Ukrainians did not "pummel" it constantly. They also need the bridge. They did pummel the bridges way down river near Kherson. The hits they did do on this dam bridge were very well documented as Russians cried about every single hole Ukrainians made. Russians did not manage to show a single photo of any significant damage to the dam itself from the precision strikes Ukraine did. Remember, we are talking about an army where higher command decided it would be fun to dig trenches in the Red Woods. A+ move. They are incompetent and they don't give two shits about lives OR property. AS long as they get to pump shit out of ground and the politmafia gets their money, shits fine. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Igor Kolomoisky is parents-in-law with Sergeiy Lavrov, aka Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The same Kolomoisky who's black-listed in the US for corruption because he stole billions from regular Ukrainian people, also the same guy who funded Zelenskiy's rise to prominence. So, Kolomoisky's and Lavrov's kids are married just to be clear. One example of many... The conflict is a giant money-making meat grinder where the elites of both sides are mutually scheming and benefiting while the little peons on the bottom blow each other up. If we're not talking about the top elites, or the people who have the power to either end the conflict or escalate it, then who should we be talking about as far as "good/bad guys" ? |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
Just curious, where did you get this comment from? Ive heard the same thing almost verbatim in other chats, comments, reddit. So its seems like its something that is copy pasted around alot. Now, to debunk this shit. 1) Ukraine used precision strikes against the road bridge crossing the dam, not the dam itself. Those strikes were precise and ... well, barely enough to destroy the road section. The dam would be safe from himars, even it it were a direct target. Just for reference. During the second world war, special dam buster bombs were designed, that would bounce against the dam, roll down under water, to the base of the dam, and the explode. Those were enough to make a hole in a dam. Amount of explosives in such a dedicated bomb was 3 500 kg (first estimates were around 7 - 10 000 kg). Himars warhead = 90kg, which exploded on the surface of the road deck. The way the damn exploded makes it quite clear that it was mined from the inside. Secondly, Ukraine gains nothing from the attack. Literally nothing. You said that the flood will wash away the "defences". To that I say...the flood IS the defence. Its a better defence than a trench line or a bunker. It renders that whole area untraversible for a long time, allowing Russia to free almost all the units from the southern front and concentrate them in the location of Ukrainian counter attack. Secondly, its a huge humanitarian catastrophe. Who is gona have to deal with the evacuation of all the civilians? The military. Its the worst monkeywrench to throw into the Ukrainian counter offensive plans Russians could think of. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread V
He's right. Is this the moment you realized that bridge next to the dam was the part that was hit several times with something precise? Lots of photos and videos of this, it's in one of my compilations

I like to watch Sanya v Floride. It's a daily update (in Russian language) by a guy living in Florida. What I like about him best is he criticizes both sides and shows where both aren't being honest. Not my only source, but a daily one. https://rutube.ru/video/4bcd974b4d89...4a917b56db996/ |
