A previously unseen video of Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin emerged Thursday following the mercenary warlord’s funeral.

The undated video, posted to a Wagner-aligned Telegram channel, shows Prigozhin addressing the camera while riding in a vehicle and speaking about speculation of his death.

“To those who talk about my liquidation, private life and earnings or whatever else, strictly speaking, everything’s alright,” Prigozhin said in the video, according to translations from the independent outlet Moscow Times.

“For anyone discussing whether I’m alive or not and how I’m doing […] it’s a weekend in the second half of August 2023. I’m in Africa,” Prigozhin continues.

Russian outlets have pointed out that the uniform Prigozhin is wearing in the video is identical to the tactical outfit worn in a video published on Aug. 21 — during the Wagner Group campaign in Africa between his abandoned coup and reported death.

Still, the strategically timed video release by Telegram channel Grey Zone is likely intended to fuel speculation that the mercenary leader is still alive.

Yep, he's a different breed of asshole, but has a lot in common with faust.

Quite proud of his master's work, so much so, that when downtown Kiev was attacked the other day, he's putting up smiley faces, all happy about civies being attacked ect, he keeps getting lower & lower in his standards & is possibly the worst individual that I have come across in a very very long time as there's not one ounce of decorum in him.

Furthermore, his posts are lacking in clarity & factual content, & is questionable at the best of times & I stopped reading & watching his vids for ages now because it's a waste of time.
I know that things need to be reported from both sides, but he just posts more & more lies as time went on, to where we are at now & that is, I keep seeing post from ppl who complain about his material & I wonder why he's such a dickhead as you cant really be that stupid to continue the way he is just word & pic spewing as now it's just an avalanche of misinformation from him that it's not funny n only clogging up the thread with high volumes of absolute shitty posts that it's not funny.

I understand if you have a hard on for the orcs & if you post some, legible & factual content with supporting evidence to highlight the russian SMO / War / Invasion of Ukraine but to actively & knowingly post lies & deceptive videos should IMO be subject to MOD interjection & warning about such behavior, as it's detrimental to DR the way that he's posting as there's no Reality to his more than questionable posts.

Barely a year on from their first use in Ukraine, FPV kamikaze drones have become a breakout success. The Ukrainians have shown that these simple, $500 loitering munition made from repurposed racing drones can take out a tank costing millions from several kilometres away. Russian troops have also adopted FPV kamikazes in a big way, despite resistance from further up the command chain, and Russian engineers are now working to make them more powerful with longer range, smarter guidance and less need for a human operator. The technology is advancing, but is held back by military politics.

Samuel Bendett, an expert Russian drones and adviser to both the CNA and CNAS, told Forbes that at present Russian FPVs are mainly used by irregular units from the Russian-controlled DNR/LNR region and contractors such as Wagner.

“The official military units have fewer FPV units in service, their use has not yet been reflected in the official combat regulations or instructions,” says Bendett. “There were many FPVs and quadcopters presented at the ARMY 2023 last month, taking the spotlight away from the usual large-scale UCAVs. But the Russian MoD has too much invested in legacy UAVs and drone systems already to quickly adapt.”

As with previous FPV developments, the latest round of enhancements come from small startups and volunteer organizations. One obvious development is the scaling up to bigger warheads. Both sides started with FPV drones carrying 1.5 kilos, around twice as much as Mavic-type drones, and enough for an RPG warhead or similar payload. But bigger warheads are needed to reliably take out a tank with one hit, and both sides are fielding ‘heavy FPV’ variants. Russian group Sudplatov's latest carries a 3-kilo warhead, as does the new Lotosnik drone. Cost is quoted at around $400. Another Russian group has shown off an FPV carrying a KZ-6 warhead, the same type fitted to the Lancet loitering munition. Lancet appears fairly effective against tanks.

Alexander Khodakovsky, a leading drone pioneer with the pro-Russian Vostok Battalion recently commented on his Telegram channel that he had introduced a setup which keeps the drone operator inside in a bunker.

This employs a special antenna, known as Bashnya (“Tower”) which also allows FPV pilots to operate from armored vehicles. Ukraine had been targeting Russian drone operators, and Khodakovsky boasts that since this technique was introduced not a single operator has been lost.
