Why does the Pro-Putin faction here always speak as if the war is over? Why would you expect the Ukrainians to drive the Russians out in a matter of months when the Russians have been stalled in their advance for over a year?

Remember that both the invasion of Afghanistan and the Second Chechen War lasted about a decade. Though they won in Chechnya, they were defeated in Afghanistan because they could never control the whole country.

As I've said, it's easy to armchair quarterback this situation. I try hard not to do that. I don't know who's going to win. I don't know if this counteroffensive is going to do the trick or not. I don't know that it's not going to be successful either.

How could I (or anyone on this forum) know such things.

All I know is that as of right now, it's not over.

It's bad enough when people here put Americans in a box, as if we're all the same. But not everyone here is American and now those of you who aren't, are being put in the same box as Americans.

It's like groundhogs day in here sometimes. Same shit, same arguments, same psychic predictions... different day. Fucking yawn.

Apparently we have several clairvoyants here who think they actually know the real situation on the ground when not a single one of them is there. I feel legitimate vicarious embarrassment for anyone who states what's going to happen in this war. I don't think there is a single person on the planet who knows for sure.

Totally agree with that one. But I always have this awful gut feeling it will end with nukes landing on major capitals and the majority of us returning to the Middle Ages.

After all how many of us know how to make a light bulb. Or a generator. Or a radio. How liquify gas or refine petroleum. How to grow antibiotics all these things we take for granted. What will run the farm machines when it’s all over. It’s likely we will have to work the farms by hand for handouts of food.

For those that do survive. They’ll be wishing they didn’t. Or fighting the other survivors for what little supplies are left.

That’s my guess. And it scares the shit out of me. I’m just thankful I live next to a designated target and will hopefully be vaporised in the first few milliseconds.

This planets fucked anyway. A giant cell slowly being eaten away by bacteria. We destroy everything we touch. In the end. We’ll be eating each other.

I’ll just keep a good stock of my opiate painkillers and neck the lot of it comes down to it. Don’t think I’d wanna be hanging around after the fact.


Incidentally i visited a not so secret secret nuclear bunker 30 mins outside of London yesterday it closed a few years ago but appears just as a house in the middle of nowhere. You walk in and it’s a tunnel leading 150 feet underground. At the end of it is a machine gun so it can be easily defended. Plus two sets of tank metal doors set at right angles so if one set failed the sudden corner would diminish the blast enough that the second doors would hold. It sleeps 600 Apparently in the UK every borough has a bunker for officials in the event of such a thing happening. But the plan apparently is not to tell the public. They would start stocking the bunker months before it happened and only tell us within 72 hours of the actual missiles flying so as not to cause panic. We all know what the idiots did during the pandemic with toilet roll. So you can only imagine what would happen during a real panic event.


Idea being the don’t want half the country fleeing to the countryside and blocking the roads. Long story short. The prime minister at the time (Maggie Thatcher) would have been taken there. But that they fully expected most of us to be dead anyway.


Typical isn’t it. Half the ex prime ministers own shares in the weapons factories anyway. War makes them money. Plus we have to test our new tech out on someone eh.


Typical. The rich survive. The normal people are fucked. As usual. Also makes you wonder why so many millionaires seem to be having these luxury bunkers built. Doesn’t it. Good luck to them as they slowly starve or get raised by mobs of starving people.

What they don’t realise is they’ll have shit loads of ppl trying all manner of ways to get in and will probably die in them wishing they would have . Stayed outside anyway.

I must say. For a bunker that only closed 20 odd years ago. But the machinery still works. And it’s intact. It was a bit of a shit hole to be fair. I can’t imagine 600 people holed up in there for three months.

I guess the new stuff must be much more well equipped. And what with all the building going on in London and surrounding cities who knows what they have got underneath all that shit.

My thoughts have always been that shit tin doesn’t have a long time left to go. He won’t have a problem ordering nukes fired if he thinks it’s all over. Let’s hope that whoever he orders to do it. Decides not too. Otherwise those Patriot missiles better be proper decent. And we better have loads of them.

My guess is even if 10percent reach their targets. It’s game over.
