I feel for you and your beloved Russian wife. I can't even imagine what she's going through mentally and its effect on your family. That is unfortunate, I wish it on no one. I do not pretend that us Americans are innocent in terms of the transgressions of today's world - we have our own faults. As a US veteran I know we have our place in terms of the things we have infuriated - or caused - in today's world of conflict. I own that. But that does not mean I and my like cannot offer a word of caution to those who neighbor us. I would civilly disagree with you that Russians do not have to take a side - Putin so decisively controls information in Russia that to counter their official narrative is tantamount to treason. While your wife may no longer live under the yoke of Russian oppression of opinion, those who still live in Russia do. They have a choice, and a hard choice at that.
