Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IX
Sorry, but my ONLY thought is that if Zelensky had not been leading Ukraine during the war, then the war would be LONG OVER, and all the things she is describing would be normal life for Ukrainians, with no hope of future improvement. To me, she actually SOUNDS like a Russian operative, doing her best to undercut Zelensky and create chaos in the Ukrainian government and Ukrainian people. If there was so much corruption, it would be pretty hard to hide. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IX
First of all Tucker During a 2020 defamation lawsuit, Fox lawyers successfully argued that the general tenor of his show was not based on facts, but on eager speculation and opinion. They stated that a reasonable viewer would not take his statements as literal facts. Organizations like PolitiFact have analyzed numerous statements by Carlson, consistently rating them as Mostly False, False, or Pants on Fire due to the promotion of conspiracy theories and incorrect data. She's promoting her book and she said afterwards that she can not return to Ukraine after this interview meaning she is using her presence in the U.S. to prepare the ground to seek political asylum. Independent fact-checkers, media analysts, and official sources indicate that she cannot be trusted, just like Tucker imo, as an objective or accurate source. She repeated unverified russian propaganda and desinformation, unproven rumors regarding drug use in Zelenskyy’s inner circle and the claim that the West actively blocked a 2022 peace deal. Her interview narrative completely contradicts her own 2022 book where she extensively praised Zelenskyy as a breath of fresh air and the nation’s protector. She left the administration in mid-2021. Her claims regarding 2022 territorial negotiations in Istanbul or internal decisions during the full-scale war are entirely secondhand hearsay, as she held no government position at the time. She uses the phrase: everything is banned in Ukraine, to portray the country as an authoritarian, heavily controlled police state. She pointed to Ukraine's nationwide 9:00 AM minute of silence, describing it as a really strange agenda and surreal rule where all the cars need to stop on the roads to listen to the hymn. It's not a rule as it's entirely voluntary and driven by respect, rather than government coercion but done by Ukrainians to show respect to the fallen ones.(Citizens and soldiers) Mendel framed the event as a forced legal requirement. In reality, Ukrainian law contains absolutely no penalties, fines, or legal consequences for individuals or drivers who choose not to participate or keep driving during that minute. (Like they have the people to enforce that "rule" in entire Ukraine in the first place) Actually that's russian propaganda as russian state media frequently seeks to depict wartime Ukraine not as a democracy defending itself but as a tyrannical regime controlling the micro-behaviors of its population. (Look who's talking She contradicts her book written in 2022 under Joe Biden and now under more anti Ukr. sentiment under Trump she gives the interview so she is shifting opinions and views so imo she is full of it. Probably a media deal with the Tucker Carlson Network as they like to start so called unverified bombshell news to gain attention (views). |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IX
The search and rescue operation at the site of russia’s strike on a residential building in Kyiv has been completed. First responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine worked continuously for more than a day. The enemy practically demolished an entire section of the building with their missile. Twenty-four people were killed by this strike, incl. 3 children. Everyone who was wounded or lost their home must receive the necessary assistance. In total, 48 people were wounded in Kyiv as a result of yesterday’s attack, including 2 children. A russia like this can never be normalized – a russia that deliberately destroys lives and hopes to remain unpunished. Pressure is needed. Ballistic missile defense is always needed. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IX
For an hour, Dmitry Senin lay still inside the carcass of the dead cow, making certain there was no sign of Russian border guards. It was twilight in September, a date chosen carefully as it is a time of year when the temperatures drop below freezing on the border between Siberia and Kazakhstan but the snow is yet to arrive, allowing an escapee to take cover among the grasses and crops which carpet the frontier in the early autumn. The high-flying Federal Security Service (FSB) agent, dressed in a gas mask, a rubber suit and wrapped in tin foil, was running for his life from Vladimir Putin’s death squads – populated by a number of his former colleagues. His escape from the cow, over the border and onto the back of a motorcycle driven by a former Soviet KGB spy, played out in the shadows of two of the biggest espionage cases in European legal history. But Senin, 47, is no defector. At least, not in his telling. Instead, he is what screenwriters would call a rogue agent: an innocent man, he claims, framed for a crime he did not commit, using a very particular set of skills acquired over a long and highly decorated career to stay a step ahead of his own side while trying to clear his name. It is a story almost too extraordinary to believe. But much of his tale, including how Russian agents have pursued him and his family across Europe, is corroborated by court records and investigations by European security services. Senin’s account, told here for the first time, sheds light on how the Kremlin has dodged repeated rounds of security crackdowns and sanctions to keep a network of spies dotted throughout the Continent – including agents, Senin claims, who have acquired British citizenship. And it demonstrates how Russia abuses international legal systems to search for those it wants to “liquidate”. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IX
This war is still going on. That’s sad for both sides, forcing people to fight in a war is sub-human. Putin is corrupt and waging war on Ukraine has just done nothing but cause misery on both sides.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IX
As a result of a massive russian strike on Kyiv on the night of June 2nd, a resident of the capital, Veronika Chuyan, born in 1997, tragically died. The woman was fatally wounded by an enemy rocket explosion as she headed with her 2 young sons to a shelter in the underground parking lot of a neighboring building. One of Veronika Chuyan's sons was seriously injured, the other was almost unharmed. A russian missile hit nearby, killing the woman on the spot, and one of the boys was seriously injured and underwent emergency surgery. The other child escaped with only bruises. Both of them still don't know that their mother is gone. |
