It left me wondering why he seems to think that only NATO forces “” are able to program the target data into these missiles?

He can’t be talking about long range ATACMS as they are programmed at launch. And the Storm Shadow missiles I expect are also targeted at launch on the spot.

I would understand it if he was referring to our nuclear cruise missiles. They also have the ability to be given new targets whilst in flight. (The subsonic ones at least)

So which missiles is he referring to when he says that the target data can only be entered by NATO forces. Or is this another attempt to dupe the Russian people into believing what he says.



Any ideas ?

Putin on Thursday raised doubts as to whether Kyiv could carry out long-range strikes alone, saying “the Ukrainian army is not capable of using cutting-edge high-precision long-range systems supplied by the West” without NATO assistance in targeting.

The US military already does provide intelligence to Ukraine, and has previously assisted in the targeting, although not with the long-range systems currently being considered.

According to Center for a New American Security Senior Fellow Dr. Stacie Pettyjohn, there may also be other intelligence resources available to Ukrainian forces, including commercial satellite imagery, depending on the target.
