Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV
Cope. I’ll sit back and watch like I watched hundreds of thousands of russkies last year fleeing „future more bright than most of western states”. Cope hard. I like it. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV
I really try to understand your perspective sometimes Wailode and it just doesn't make any sense logically. Russia's headlong assault into northern Ukraine was definitely stopped. Cold. Remember that massive convoy north of Kyiv that hardly moved for days and all the videos coming out of them getting bombed to all hell. That company + of tanks just sitting on the highway through Brovary that got systematically picked off while they just stood still. They all took very heavy casualties and then ran back up to Belarus and Russia. You are not doing yourself a favor by adopting alternative fantasies - this is not how war is conducted - a headlong rush into the capital that proved to fail badly, but this was somehow "systematic" and on purpose??! These are repeated mistakes that honestly I'm shocked that the Russians keep making. This is not Putin's 4D quantum chess game Wailode, they are really fucking this up and it's obvious. Historians, Professors, Officers and NCOs from everywhere will be studying this for many, many years. "Chapter 1, how to fuck up large scale attack on a neighboring country". I did not think this would be the case but here we are.... if you can't accept the cold realities of what's happening in front of your eyes then that's on you. "But if reality were different then Russia would win" "But if I were taller then I wouldn't be short" Russia has to deal with with the fact that Ukraine has some powerful friends. Where was that bullet point when Putin was deciding whether to do this or not. Sounds like a catastrophic mistake on his part, possibly the largest one. Everyone knows that without help from the west, eventually Ukraine's very existence would come into question. I haven't come across anyone who has said Ukraine can do this by itself. It can't. But that's not the reality we have today, Ukraine has friends and they seem quite committed and you need to deal with that. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV
Russians made fatal mistakes at the start of the war. Even Putin was naive and he thought that ukraine will just capitulate after they will storm kiev with few hundread of soldiers. But current state of war is drastically changed. Ukraine's longevity in this war is holding on endless support of weapons. Their manpower is more limited then russian's. And about argument why is russia not making advances or taking cities. It is because its strategically inefective. Attacking or taking ground that is fortified and full of military is pure suicide. Holding positions and methodic long term war is politically and logistically better for them. Attacking now or taking ground would make them huge losses. They are in no rush. They know time is in their favor. Just look at political side of all this. Every day, russia is more united and eu more divided. Paradox. I think best for Ukraine is to change their pro-western regime, but its too late now. People are already brainwashed by war propaganda and naive wishfull thinking they will be part of NATO. Russia acknowledged that Ukraine have powerfull friends. But they dont give a shit, its existential for them. If Ukraine wins, Russia will be crumbled and divided next. They already lived through this once when ZSSR fall apart. Both are committed to their cause. And yes, Russia also have powerfull friends and is backed by belarus, china and iran. So if USA pushes NATO into war, you are in WW3. And you really dont want this. No one sane want this.. |

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV
For NATO this is great. This is like an accelerated Afghanistan for Russia. 10 x the kia. NATO's greatest threat is being methodically whittled down. Russia went from having the 2nd best army to like 5th.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread IV
On the opposite. By escalating conflict. EU pushed Russia into raising larger and bigger military complex and donation of it. Growing BRICS and their economy with eastern partners.
