Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread III

"something about running a armored vehicle"
-you said you were around tanks right? would you know if its standard procedure to abandon an armored fighting vehicle on fire? whether the fire is in a certain place, like say engine fire far rear, or eternal fuel leak. would any firefighting be done besides a halon release? provided its a safe-ish environment, support around, arty is silent, was a single shot out of nowhere.

Not really "standard" anything with that. If the vehicle can move, shoot and the most senior soldier of that individual vehicle thinks his vehicle and crew are still capable, it's expected you keep on working. If that's not the case, then the crew needs to request support and if abandoning a vehicle is a part of that, so be it. In an M1 tank, if it's clear your ammo rack just detonated inside its compartment, or if your mobility is killed and you believe the enemy knows exactly where you are, You're in a severely degraded status, your crew should not remain there.

From my limited knowledge about the firefighting systems, Halon will extinguish most fires but not all, but yes there is another handheld method but that we had zero actual training in. Can't comment on that.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread III

thanks, i know its apples and oranges but was just wondering after the drone effectivity discussion why i see smallish vehicle fire never attended to. i get there's a certain level of rus apathy but id expect to see at least one attempt so far.

you seen the m1 ammo rack that the commander popped up out of? safer to wait out the powder or just get the fuck out?

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread III

-Rus, "Today We freed children, women and old people from the paws of Khokhols! They spent nine months in the basement!!! They were used as human shields!!! the Nazis did not let them evacuate hiding behind them"

not sure how hidden civilians work as shield or eat and drink basement rubble for 9 months or....

I just find it comical, at this point, the lengths at which people will go to tell stories.

Russia invading another country and crying about ANYTHING that is happening whether Ukraine really did it or not, is hypocritical. They shouldn't even be there.

But this seems to inflame when the world takes notice of a particular story. Then other ones come out and try to gain the same traction.

That video with the captive, in the process of surrendering, shooting at the Ukrainian soldiers was passed around by Russian sources like wildfire with the narrative that UA just executed these soldiers for nothing. But the video clearly shows the guy come out and start shooting at the end so there is obviously more to the story.

I find it amazing that people on the pro-Russian side are just conveniently leaving that detail out. It's so obvious what happened yet people are glossing over that very important detail.

Am I being punked?

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread III

I still don’t think it’s wise. You have to have a few people’s precious time and energy involved in getting the drone to the frontline, handing it to soldiers, chargin batteries, making the granade itself, attaching it and then sending the drone to the frontline to basically expose your ability to penetrate their troops. What’s the goal of this? A play? Cat and mouse type of poking? Or simply recording nice videos for propaganda reasons? Effectiveness of this is very low, it engages a few people’s time and energy you could use effectively to: send a few drones with one covering the other, spot ruSSkies, gather intelligence about their detachments, strike precisely and decisively ruSSkies eliminating them succesfully and eradicating their equipment with sudden and pointed strike. Same people, same energy - more sense for the whole war. Remember - there are 300k ruSSkies out there to be killed. By next May ruSSia wants to deploy another 700k. You need to act quickly and there is no fucking time for playing. You need to get rid of them one by one quickly and swiftly. Otherwise you will have some nice stupid videos of weak grenades bumping off heavy armored tanks until April and then you will have a lot of headache during summer of 2023 with one million ruSSkies eradicating Ukraine. Ukraine doesn’t have the comfort of having time to play around. Liquidate solidly and steadily.
Over here with that.
i'd say the goal is to kill Russians asap without putting yourself at risk. 50,000-250,000 rounds is estimated per 1 KIA, diy drone strikes probably a much lower round count. a higher percentage of drone footage is them just spotting for strikes, but why not strap on a few grenades while its up there, pull double duty. the guys flying the drone are probably in their off time, there's plenty of down time in the trenches or areas that haven't moved for months. alot of the support for the drones is done by people who don't want to fight but want to help too. same with drone units, there are guys out there with no military training but are driving to the front lines to fly a drone for spotting. most of their equipment isn't sudden strike capable either, its take a few shots see where they land then try again. plus the Russians employ GPS jammers everywhere. a few units say that any drone footage we see is a pure luck. i think the ukies are trying to kill them as fast as possible and are trying to stay alive too. that takes time. we've seen the quality of this 300k, the next will head off with sharp sticks and tough words. not sure where their getting these new tanks for ukies to bump their grenades off, i think they prefer the javeline and stugna for those anyway, lol

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread III

I have no idea if this is real... but if it is a real response by Prigozhin (Head of Wagner) to Russia being declared a terrorist state by the EU... what a dumb mother fucker.

Ego far larger than his brain.

POST:
The head of the "Wagner" PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin sent a case with a "bloody" sledgehammer to the European Parliament

In the video, which is distributed by the propagandist mass media, it can be seen that a tool with the symbols of Russian mercenaries is lying in the suitcase. There are traces of red paint on it, which symbolizes blood.

This is how Prigozhin reacted to the recognition of Russia as a sponsor of terrorism.

** Similar behavior of the "national heroes" of the Russian Federation only confirms the correctness of the decision of the European community.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread III

the war has raged a long time at this point so my memory isnt crystal but i remember there were some train station mortaring that killed dozens of civilians during the initial evacuations. Are you saying that was the Ukrainians shelling those stations? honest question, cheers
If you have an honest question, then you can probably also give an honest answer yourself:

-Tactically, does an invading force want all civilians gone so that they more easily can kill the enemy?

-What does a (according to Amnesty International) war crime committing force defending a country want? Civilians gone and lose their human shields and get obliterated by artillery?

If you can answer this honestly then you also know wether an attack on civilians would be deliberate or accidental. And who would be behind it as well

Sorry if your message was meant as a “just asking questions”-troll type of message. I just answer respectfully, and if your message was a troll then maybe you learned something

You're applying Western principles to a society who doesn't share those same principles so it's not a fair comparison.

We've seen time and time again of the atrocities committed by Russia. They don't care about civilians, so whatever point you're trying to make isn't in line with reality.

Due to Russian propaganda, and a pirated interview, Will2media gave me my own to clear the air with Ukraine.
