Yanukovych was/is a crook, thief, thug, bully, accused rapist, fraud and definitely Russia's bitch, specifically Putin's bitch. He ran for office telling the people he would fight for their desire to align with the west once he got there and he did nothing but backpedal once he got there. Did just enough to appease the people until he outright refused to follow through on the whole reason he got into office. The people rebelled... regardless of who backed them, they were pissed off, rightfully so.

Russia DID protect him, they took him in after he fled the city which he did as soon as he learned he was being removed from office.

He is still making claims to the presidency of Ukraine and protected by Russia today. He drained the treasury while in office and his multi-million dollar compound (on a $115k/year salary) outside of Kyiv, with it's $100,000 chandeliers, held plenty of evidence of his crimes.

He was convicted criminal when he ran for office and the fact anyone thinks he was legit, descent, and actually gave a shit about them as he took the country's wealth right under their nose is very sad.

He was the ultimate example of a dirty, thieving, self-serving politician and regardless of how he got into office and how he left, he's still a crook. And he's the man Putin had all prepped and ready to install back in office at the end of his 3/266 day shitshow.
