There is tactical reason to use a strobe flashlight when clearing ditches because it is much more disorientating for the enemy who is in the dark in the foxhole. I can see it both ways but that is what I read on another site about strobe flashlights

It’s also much harder to track the movement of a strobing light.

Most tactical lights have a strobe feature for these two reasons. It’s absolutely intentional.

Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine. Day: 933/934/935/936 (Sept 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th)

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Tuesday a decree to pay 5 million rubles ($68,800) in aid to the families of Russian soldiers who were killed in the war in Ukraine.

The decree, which includes additional social guarantees for Russian soldiers, security forces and their families, was published on the Russian Legal Information Agency’s website.

Meanwhile, 3 million rubles ($41,300) will be paid to the soldiers who were injured or went through a trauma during the war.

The decision, which took effect as of the date it was signed, will cover the families of the soldiers who lost their lives and those who were injured as of Feb. 24, when the Russia-Ukraine war started.

IRL: A Russian soldier who was severely wounded while fighting in Ukraine has received only two buckets of carrots and a bag of onions from the government instead of the money his family thought he would receive, according to a new report.

The report was published on Tuesday by the independent investigative outlet Mozhem Obyasnit (We Can Explain), which reportedly interviewed the soldier's wife for the story.

The Mozhem Obyasnit article said Oleg Rybkin, 45, was mobilized from Russia's Volgograd region to fight in Ukraine in September 2022. In June, Rybkin was in combat near the village of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

As the outlet noted, Robotyne was the site of fierce fighting during the summer phase of Ukraine's 2023 counteroffensive until Kyiv declared it had liberated the village from Russian President Vladimir Putin's forces in late August.

While serving in Robotyne, Rybkin "was wounded in the abdomen, liver, kidneys" and his "right knee joint was destroyed," Mozhem Obyasnit wrote.

Rybkin reportedly underwent an operation at a local hospital in Ukraine before undergoing abdominal surgery at a hospital in Sevastopol, Crimea. Russia's military medical commission then deemed Rybkin to be "temporarily unfit" to fight, and he was sent to Saint Petersburg for further rehabilitation.

The soldier's wife, Irina Rybkina, described her husband as being in extreme pain and in need of a knee surgery that he never received. Nevertheless, he was soon reportedly made to return to his unit.

Newsweek reached out to the Russian Ministry of Defense via email on Wednesday night for comment.

"He has severe pain, his knee cannot straighten, and he cannot walk without crutches. He's on painkillers and sleeping pills," Irina told Mozhem Obyasnit, which published a photo on its website of what is said was an extract from her husband's medical record.

Medical professionals have told Irina that her spouse needs a knee replacement procedure, but she claimed that Russia's military command doesn't want to be forced to pay the 3 million rubles ($32,730) in compensation and a lifelong pension that Oleg would receive if he's found permanently unfit to serve.

Instead of the rubles and a pension, Irina told Mozhem Obyasnit that the only help Russian government officials have given her family is in the form of two buckets of carrots and a bag of onions grown by local farmers.

"What vegetables, what gifts, do I need to replace my husband's joint and get him discharged!" she said.

Mozhem Obyasnit reported that Oleg is currently back serving in his unit while using crutches.
Why am I not surprised.
Poo Tin can also play the "Plausible Deniability Factor" with a Oh, sanctions has left us with no money for so or, where's the body, MIA, can't identify the victim, can't find the relatives ect ect ect.

If this is true, it's interesting to know that orc pilots are allowed to have moustaches as well.

wow according to this thread Ukraine is really winning
They have not only held since poo tins invasion of Ukraine some 933 days ago in what poo tin expected to be a 3 day walk in the park take over, but they have pushed them back & shown the orc dicktaker that he was wrong to underestimate the fight in the dog.

Z & his countrymen have done an absolutely fantastic job to the point that every army in the world is taking notes & building up their drone armies because of the 110% success rate that Ukraine is having with their drones.

A bunch of Farmers & Shop Keepers NOT only holding the invaders, but mounting incursion operations within russia, one of the supposedly strongest army's in the world, you kidding me, they were winning on day 4.

Hmm, Ok.
Every point of view has a critic & my views don't really corelate with yours on this occasion, but I will say this, I personally wouldn't be clearing trenches & foxholes with a blinker on, much easier to see ect, I would clear it with a grenade first (Standard Operational Procedure) & then enter under covering fire before I declare that it's clear before moving on as even a disoriented person can still fire at a doorway opening with an automatic weapon !

After all, my job is to kill them, so

It’s also much harder to track the movement of a strobing light.

Most tactical lights have a strobe feature for these two reasons. It’s absolutely intentional.
Still easier to spot.

Most tactical lights have a strobe feature to attract attention of evacuation parties & also indicate to aircraft your exact position if your down range & they are dropping ordinance or using 20mm ie in a Close Air Support Roll.
Strobes are sometimes miss used by individuals because they don't have any other light source & walking up on a trench with foxholes everywhere with a strobe light going berserk isn't a very well thought out way to engage or clear any obstacles as a combatant only need point his weapon in the direction of the covered doorway, entry point & disoriented or not, you / he / they, would still be able to get a few rounds off, however, if a grenade or flash bang is used, that's a much better way to "Disorient" your intended target or clear the obstacle as you would defiantly disorient your target & quite possibly kill or injure them, so in my view, it's more bang for your buck without ringing the doorbell with a strobing light !

In the end it's a very debatable topic BUT I would suggest that a grenade sort shit out rather than a questionable light source.

Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine. Day: 933/934/935/936 (Sept 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th)

Anyone know why the guys torch seems to flash like that? Is it to save battery or something or is it just the camera refresh rate syncing with the led bulb?
I was curious about that as well. I was wondering if it was intentionally set to strobe in case anyone was in there. It would possibly disorient or confuse them.
