Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine Day 87/88/89/90/91/92 (May 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27th)

"The AFU servicemen were sent from the front to the pre-trial detention center for criticizing the command.

Such an incident occurred by the 115th brigade of "terroboronets".

The soldiers complained about the lack of heavy equipment and lack of reinforcements.

The AFU command did not appreciate the demarche and accused them all of "desertion".

By the way, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine have already proposed killing deserters."

Sure but ‘dismissed’ means?

“Sorry we take away medals please come back and fly airplane comrade, motherland needs you”
Would venture a guess the Russian's have pilots that stand before a FEB. Depending on a number of different variables & the situation/actions that brought them before the board, they may or may not retain their flying status. In some extreme situations, reserve/NG pilots may not only lose their service related seat, but their civi/commercial rating/job as well. Most that go down that road don't fly for the military ever again, I doubt they'd be called back as well. However, I do know a couple guys that lawyered up and "got their wings back" but neither flew their primary aircraft again and were forced to retrain into another MDS and, of course, were assigned to a different unit.

A shame Europe is being Censored to see them..

The US has reportedly donated to Ukraine 90 artillery systems of the M777 type, over 140,000 155mm shells and some 70 trucks to tow the guns. Smaller batches have been offered by US allies Canada and Australia. Some Ukraine watchers were expecting the howitzers to become a game-changer for Kiev's campaign against Moscow.
according to some reports, there are complaints coming from Ukraine that the M777s lacked advanced computer equipment to ensure accuracy. The Pentagon declined to comment on the claim, but it’s believed they withheld the digital fire control systems to prevent Russia from capturing and studying them.

The Russian military says it’s destroyed a battery of American M777 howitzers supplied to Ukraine
A Russian artillery strike has destroyed a battery of US-supplied 155mm towed M777 howitzers used by the Ukrainian military, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Monday.
The ministry released a video showing Russian self-propelled 152mm 2S5 Giatsint-S artillery guns in action. It didn't specify the location, but described the strike as a “counterbattery mission.”
Last Wednesday, the Russian military reported destroying a battery of M777 howitzers near the village of Podgornoe. The Russian army used strike drones to force their opponents to seek cover in a small forest and followed up with a heavy artillery strike to finish them off, the Defense Ministry said. It released drone footage of the Ukrainian forces under fire as evidence.

Thanks for the clarification!

If the camera quality is late 90s, you know it’s legit footage of western (backed/provided) vehicles being destroyed

I hope they don’t end up like the civilians not offering resistance against the armed forces. Those can be executed as well under special law

Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine Day 87/88/89/90/91/92 (May 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27th)

In the US, this is called "forcible retirement". "Dismissed" might just be a translation thing. This does happen, one senior officer in my unit fucked up and he was retired way earlier than he would have wanted. He got off way too easy but he was a very experienced guy at what he did. If he asked to get back in during wartime, I bet the DoD would have considered it.

I would bet the Russians have a similar thing, especially during wartime. He's an experienced pilot with decades of service, I would bet he came back on his own accord and offered his services. Respectable.
My opinion as well. Probably NOT a Soviet type officer, but a dedicated fighter pilot who wanted to fly again so took this chance just to get back in the cockpit again.
If he'd actually BEEN a Soviet, they never would have kicked him out. They keep their loyalists, no matter how stupid they are or how many people they kill. Also, if he was a Soviet, he would have stayed out, and NOT rejoined.
Again, I deduce that these front-line combat officers are actually the best guys left. I'm sorry they are getting killed while the Soviet officers are limping along, safe as usual, watching others die.
