I´'d say its extremely unlikely that the sound was recorded by the drones. Its possible, but it requires extra work and there is no benefit for drone operators to record sound. (i.e you would hear constant drone buzz if the drone recorded sound. )

I wonder if they have a directional microphone small enough to fit onto a drone, even for just surveillance not just recording normal sounds of battle

It was quite a brutal hit on Ukraine's military warehouses and logistics. Just look at all the fires and secondary explosions due to military supplies exploding. Russian Z-military experts claim that the terminal was a hub for military cargo, they even name specifics - 52 tank engines. Wasn't 4 hours after closing time. Ukr. says it was a normal postal hub.
