Ilyushin Il-76 crashes at Gao Airport in Mali

An Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft has crashed at Gao Airport in Mali. The aircraft, registered as EW-412TH, is of Belarusian origin and had arrived from Minsk, Belarus the previous day with scheduled departure to Istanbul, Turkey today.

Some sources indicate that the aircraft is owned by the Russian private military company (PMC) known as Wagner PMC. But local sources have stated that the aircraft is a Malian army aircraft carrying equipment.

The Ilyushin Il-76 is a widely used military transport aircraft known for its versatility and capability to carry heavy cargo and troops. It is often used for humanitarian and military missions, making it a crucial asset in various operations. The circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation.

This happened on the 23rd of September at Mali / GAO Airport which is some 2500 meters or 8202 feet & killed 140 people, without going into weather these ppl were civilians or Wagner PMC contractors, but I think that it was Wagner contractors as civies don't usually hitch rides on military aircraft as these types of aircraft have the seats down the sides of the plane n things down the middle of the plane with the load master making sure that everything is balanced out according to the flight manifest & tied down really good with chains ect to prevent movement or load shift during take of or landing.
I looked at this landing & you can tell right away that he / they touched down long considering that this is a 2500m runway you can clearly see that it traveled no more than 400m before it turned into a fire ball, so they put it down way to late as they are now well n truly beyond the profile of a safe recovery of the aircraft as they should have put it down within the first 200 - 300m of the runway giving them 1800m to pull it up with a bit to spare, so a huge error in judgement & clearly loaded up with stuff / probably very heavy items that they obviously struggled to pull it up on the runway.

Could have also cooked the brakes to early & hard that they popped / burnt out n stopped working but the long landing was some rookie shit right there.

If your out of pitch, then go round especially given the weight factor that this big bird was carrying.
