Capture of Chernobyl: 1 of 3 PHOTOS (In order by date posted): 13 March 2022: “Fires broke out in the exclusion zone near Chernobyl. NPP personnel have been held hostage for 18 days. The state specialized enterprise Ecocenter, which carries out radiation monitoring in the exclusion zone, with reference to the data of the NASA FIRMS system, reported four fires, the area of \u200b\u200bwhich is increasing every day. In particular, fires were recorded near Ukrainian settlements, which are located in a 30-kilometer zone from the border with Belarus. According to Sergey Kiriev, General Director of the Ecocenter, according to NASA Firms, the fires in the Steshchanka area have increased in size to 2 km2, and in the area of the village of Bobr - up to 10 km2. “Probably, the fire started as a result of Russia’s armed aggression, namely from a projectile or deliberate arson. According to the classification criteria for emergency situations, the criteria for fires in the exclusion zone should not exceed the volume of 0.05-0.2 km2, but the current state of the fire area exceeds these figures by dozens of times, ”says the director.” 25 March 2022 "“Slavutych is surrounded by the Russian army, checkpoints and positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being destroyed. The administration of the Kyiv region confirms that the city of Slavutych near Chernobyl is "completely isolated" by Russian troops. Local authorities forbade the population to move around the streets.”" April 2022: “The invaders ransacked the nuclear laboratories of Chernobyl - The Washington Post. Hundreds of computers, cars, 1,500 radiation dosimeters, irreplaceable software, and almost all firefighting equipment were stolen. 6 April 2022: “The invaders who dug trenches in the Red Forest in Chernobyl received radiation in the amount of about 18,500 kilobecquerels - this is a lethal dose Scientists from the Australian Institute for Strategic Policy conducted research, referring to the available photo and video materials from the Chernobyl zone, where the Russian army visited. Orcs dug trenches in the most exposed areas of the Chernobyl radiation zone. The map, compiled by scientists, shows the cesium background radiation of the soil around the disaster area, with the location of the trenches marked. It is not surprising that information has recently begun to appear that many Russian soldiers received radiation sickness.” 9 April 2022: “In Chernobyl, which was held by orcs for a month, journalists found a box with rations of Russian soldiers on the outskirts of the city. Its radiation level was 50 times the natural level.” 9 April 2022: “Russian soldiers of fortune on the Kiev direction in the Exclusion Zone, shortly before the entrance to Chernobyl”

Re: Russia/Ukraine War - Major Events Content Supplementation Thread
Capture of Chernobyl 2 of 3 VIDEOS (In order by date posted): 1. 25 February 2022: “Occupiers in Dymer, heading towards the capital from the side of Chernobyl.” 2. 27 February 2022: “Russian servicemen in the Pripyat / Chernobyl region.” 3. 5 April 2022: “Those who did must not have heard of the Red Forest. And they didn't even watch the series "Chernobyl". Nevertheless, they deserve a Darwin Award. A fortified area dug up by Russian soldiers in the Chernobyl zone. Right on the spot where radioactive waste was buried thirty years ago. "They will suffer, suffer a lot. In general, radiation sickness is on the rise. Weakness, headache, nausea, vomiting, loose stools, diarrhea, the immune system is impaired," Ignat Matasar, an academician who studies the effects of radiation on people, describes the prospects of Russian soldiers. According to his estimates, the people who dug it get at least the second degree of radiation sickness. "All systems and organs were affected in them. First of all, the circulatory system, blood formation, mucous membranes, and sexual function were impaired. Young people may lose the ability to reproduce," the academician concludes.” 4. 6 April 2022: No translation yet but putting it here anyway. “An eyewitness account of marauders from Russian-fascist bands of formations. Kyiv region, Chernobyl region.” 5. 7 April 2022: “From February 24 to March 31, Russian servicemen absorbed the energy of the Ukrainian land in the occupied Chernobyl. Soldiers dug trenches in the radiation-contaminated soil without fear. Next to their abandoned positions, the dosimeter beeps incessantly, warning of danger. For more than a month, the fighters inhaled the infected dust of the Red Forest. They prepared for the occupation of Chernobyl in advance - they brought bags for barricades with them. Although the land was obviously taken from them already in the exclusion zone. They left their positions in a hurry - they left behind boots, malnutrition, piles of garbage and burned trees of the Red Forest. Radiation-infected dogs run around the enemy positions. "A lot of dirt. Lots of leftovers from their food. They lived here in this forest. Many were burned," eyewitnesses say. The hospitality of Chernobyl and the views of the exclusion zone will remain in the memory of the occupiers for the rest of their lives.” 6. 9 April 2022: “The invaders lived for a month in the Red Forest. "It's really crazy" - Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko. CNN has gained access to the Chernobyl power plant for the first time since it returned to Ukrainian control. The film crew visited there with the participation of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko and the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky. The area around Chernobyl, namely the Red Forest, is still the most radioactively contaminated area on the planet, with most of the radioactive particles present in the soil. The invaders held Chernobyl and operated in the infected areas for a month.” 7. 13 April 2022: “Russian invaders tried to cook radioactive porridge in the Red Forest. Before the retreat, the invaders dug in in the Red Forest of Chernobyl contaminated with radionuclides” 8. 19 April 2022: “On the video - their abandoned camp in the middle of a radioactive forest, trenches dug in radioactive soil. According to experts, all the military stationed in the Chernobyl zone received a lethal dose of radiation. Many have less than a year to live.” 9. 24 July 2022: “A broken column of Russian equipment near Chernobyl. According to the author of the video, it was destroyed from Bayraktar.“ 10. 28 August 2022: “Chernobyl Tour secretly helped track Russian invasion - The Washington Post The first to notice the invasion of Russian troops was the head of the company, Yaroslav Emelianenko, and the coordinator of guides, Ekaterina Aslamova. A few hours before the full-scale invasion, they saw the movement of Russian equipment with the help of a small battery-powered camera installed near the information stand at the checkpoint in the exclusion zone. According to Aslamova, the first thing the Russians did when they entered Ukrainian territory was to remove the flag and turn off video surveillance at the checkpoint. However, they did not notice the camera of the travel agency, so Emelianenko and his colleague were able to calculate the amount of equipment in advance and reported on its movement from Belarus and through Chernobyl. Since the outbreak of the war, Chernobyl Tour has continued to provide information to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian special services by contacting other guides located on the outskirts of the exclusion zone” 11. 12 October 2022 (NOTE: Translation for the entire video is below): “Battle for Chernobyl: border guards VS occupiers. On February 24, the occupier invaded the Chornobyl exclusion zone and seized the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The main goal of the "blitzkrieg" was to quickly encircle the Ukrainian defenders and reach Kyiv. However, the plan failed right at the start thanks to the combined unit of border guards and fighters of the 80th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. You will hear first-hand about the evacuation, the undermining of the bridge and other events of that day in our video.“ TRANSLATION of Video 11: A checkpoint at the entrance of the Chernobyl zone nowadays bears little resemblance to the lively site where tourists used to gather. Any movement in the zone is now under the strict control of the military border guards and police. The threat has not really disappeared anywhere. The closed area near the nuclear plant is close to the border with Belarus. On February 24, an armored armada invaded Ukraine. Part of the Russian forces captured the Chornobyl NPP and dug in within the red forest, the rest advanced on Kyiv. Vitaly Yavorskyi, the head of the border guard unit, whose soldiers, together with the soldiers of the armed forces, took up the defense of strategic objects even before the invasion. The border guard claims that the territory was fortified and reinforced by reserves on the 23rd already. “In the evening, information was received about a possible full-scale invasion by the forces of the Russian Federation. We were already preparing for this at about 4:15 pm. Visually, rocket launches from the territory of the Republic of Belarus were already visible and the sky became red.” [-Vitaly Yavorskyi] At that time there were about a hundred border guards and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the city of Chornobyl. Another combined unit defended the road Moser Wolfchak Kyiv, which also passes through the exclusion zone. “All the forces of the border guards that were in the area of Chernobyl, we had about 30 people and I personally headed the first point which they defended. It was a bridge in the area of the city of Chornobyl itself across the Uzh River and near the settlement of Benivka. We were also reinforced by soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the 80’s brigade.” [-Vitaly Yavorskyi] The enemy entered the Chernobyl zone simultaneously in five different ways in order to surprise the Ukrainian defenders and to take them with encirclement. “They encircled Chernobyl, across the river and further through the settlement of Benivka. They also made two roads through the forest as primers.” [-Vitaly Yavorskyi] The roads were old routes that people used to drive even before the accident at the Chernobyl NPP. (Translation breaks up but looks like they said something about radiation levels) “They took objects close to the reactor to use for their own household objects where they set up their trenches. Again they hunted game that was near the reactor in the most polluted areas and ate them. They did not understand where they were and what the dangers were here.” [-Vitaly Yavorskyi] [Translation breaks again until Yavorskyi starts talking again.] “With the first volleys of enemy rockets, they blocked the roads to the city of Chernobyl so that the forces of the advancing parties would not be cut off. All the evacuation routes of the civilians who were there were about 3,000 already until this day. The notification system had been worked out. I directly informed the heads of the organization of the institutions and they each informed their subordinates and, in fact, it worked very effectively. There was no one in the morning.” [-Vitaly Yavorskyi] Unfortunately, not all of the invaders left, they took the employees of the NPP hostage, and 169 national guardsmen remained in the occupation. About 80 self-settled people who also were in the Chernoby zone. “This category is over 60 years old. People who have already survived the Chernobyl disaster. When I talked to them they said ‘and where will I go? I have nowhere to go. Here I have a house and everything I have is here’” [-Vitaly Yavorskyi] After the evacuation was completed, the military blew up the bridge across the river. This helped to stop the hordes for several hours and gave our fighters the opportunity to get out of the shelling but already in the evening, dozens of equipment from the convoy with completely different equipment. It was possible to see this happening with the help of the video camera of the tourist operator “Chernobyl Tours”. The director of the travel agency, Yaroslav Emelianenko, says that they captured enemy convoys and passed the information to the Ukrainian military. “They rode on absolutely everything from armored vehicles to tanks, armored personnel carriers with guns, and carried guns, ammunition, security vehicles, and four-wheel drive vehicles. They even drove quad bikes, carried pontoons. We did not understand how it was possible to hold back such a huge armored mass of the Russian military but we were able to see it all on our cameras.” [-Yaroslav Emelianenko] Article 56 of the Geneva Conventions protocol directly prohibits any near any NPP. The aggressor did not stop attacking either the Chernobyl zone or the Zaporizhzhya and southern Ukrainian nuclear plants today. Putin is threatening the whole world with nuclear weapons in the style of a cheating poker player. Putin: Translation breaks up but the part that repeats and slows down says “not bluffing”. In the territory of the Chernobyl exclusion zone it’s calm now but only at first glance. On the other side along the border, dictator Lukashenka’s troops conduct constant training and the bases of the Russian army on the territory of Belarus are replenished with new soldiers and manpower. So the Ukrainian defenders are preparing for any scenario so the Rashitsky slogan can be repeated before the deathly growl of the beast. # END #

Re: Russia/Ukraine War - Major Events Content Supplementation Thread
It's funny how their own government didn't tell them that it was a nuclear waste area, that's if they really cared about these bodies that they are throwing forward !

Many thanks. I have way too much time on my hands and perhaps a slight case of OCD.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War - Major Events Content Supplementation Thread
Bucha related media dump post. I will be putting media in here that I don't see posted anywhere else but don't necessarily want to put in the current war threads. Video: 1. "Spokesperson for Russian foreign affairs ministry Zakharova, last April - Bucha is a fake, and Russia blames Americans for it. " 2. Video from April 2022. Top is Lavrov saying Bucha was fake as footage is played on the bottom screen.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War - Major Events Content Supplementation Thread
Berdiansk / Berdyansk Port Attack & Sinking of Russian Ship “Saratov” Below is additional media and information about this event that has not yet been posted on the site. Post 1 of 2 - Photos “The commanders of the two damaged landing ships in Berdyansk are among the traitors of Ukraine. In 2014, the commander of VDK "Saratov", captain 2nd rank Volodymyr Khramchenkov, former commander of SDK "Kirovograd" of the Ukrainian Navy, betrayed his oath and went over to the side of the occupiers. His "comrade" captain 2nd rank Pavlov Yury Viktorovych, commander of the Novocherkassk VDK, at the time of the betrayal was the senior assistant to the commander of the VDK "Kostyantin Olshansky". Today, we all saw how the ships heeled from the port of Berdyansk. There was a fire on "Saratov", BC was detonated. 3 dead and 3 wounded on "Novocherkassk".” A couple watches as the port/ship burns “The American company Maxar Technologies published satellite images of the sunken Russian ship in Berdyansk.” “This is how the Russian schooner "Saratov" looks now in Berdyansk, a week after the Ukrainian missile attack. The satellite image shows that almost the entire deck of the ship is under water.” “Remember, in the port of Berdyansk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the large amphibious assault ship Saratov with a Tochka-U missile strike. So, today the commander of the Saratov large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Captain 2nd Rank Vladimir Khromchenkov, died in the hospital.” Posted 15 April 2022
