Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine. Day: 530/531/532/533 (August 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th)
This is far from leveled. There were no mercenaries because they're all in Belarus, Syria and Africa. No NATO officials either but the hotel has been used by United Nations employees during humanitarian missions. So yes, humanitarian and civilian locales are definitely on par as valid targets by Russia. About the UN, of which Russia is a member: One place where the world's nations can gather together, discuss common problems and find shared solutions. The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945. Currently made up of 193 Member States, the UN and its work are guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter. The UN has evolved over the years to keep pace with a rapidly changing world. But one thing has stayed the same: it remains the one place on Earth where all the world’s nations can gather together, discuss common problems, and find shared solutions that benefit all of humanity. Statement from a UN employee who has stayed in the hotel: https://ukraine.un.org/en/241286-hot...e-zaporizhzhia THIS HOTEL IS THE MAIN BASE FOR UN STAFF AND OTHER HUMANITARIANS SERVING THE PEOPLE OF ZAPORIZHZHIA 10 August 2023 STATEMENT BY THE HUMANITARIAN COORDINATOR FOR UKRAINE, DENISE BROWN, ON THE ATTACK THAT HIT A HOTEL IN ZAPORIZHZHIA I am appalled by the news that a hotel frequently used by United Nations personnel and our colleagues from NGOs supporting people affected by the war has been hit by a Russian strike in Zaporizhzhia shortly ago. It is utterly inadmissible. I have stayed in this hotel every single time I visited Zaporizhzhia. My team uses it as their base for their frequent travels to the city. It was the UN base for the operation to evacuate civilians from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, in May last year. The number of indiscriminate attacks hitting civilian infrastructure, killing and injuring civilians, have reached unimaginable levels – these attacks violate international humanitarian law. In the name of humanity, I call on the Russian Federation to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law and immediately stop indiscriminate attacks on Ukraine. Also your "let's hope this doesn't apply to Ukraine" civilian bullshit, like Scorpion stated, doesn't hold water. Ukraine is the defender against Russia, who invaded. They are given no choice but to DEFEND themselves against the Russian invasion. These facts are irrefutable. It cannot be argued against no matter how much twisting and lying Russia or it's messengers do. Schools, hospitals, museums, residential buildings, grocery stores, malls, public gathering places (pedestrian bridges in Kyiv and riverside picnic areas) and mass transit stations. And literally every shelling where civilians die, Russian sources such as yourself, are interjecting some bullshit narrative or deflection of "mercenaries", foreign legion, or huge group of AFU when instead it's civilians, peacekeeping and humanitarian organizations. The only people saying Ukraine purposely targets civilians is Russia and pro-Russians such as yourself. Russians try to do a regular job of creating this narrative with a few false flag attacks in many areas. "Shot down missiles", the Donbas and Moscow produced incidents on back country roads with women and children. Then we have Bucha, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Vinnytsia, Kherson, Mariupol, Irpin, Kupiansk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and all the other hundreds of cases of civilian blood on invading Russian hands. End of discussion as this is not the discussion thread.
