Western media reporting on large breakthroughs and the offensive starting is not really reflected with the last few numbers posts, no offence to the posts but they should really coordinate that. Like say 1000 casualties and xx number of vehicles destroyed. Now there is kind of a conflict between western news and Ukraine numbers. Just an observation

As I've said REPEATEDLY, the numbers I post from Ukraine should be taken with a grain of salt. Not all casualties and results are reported on. It's an active warzone and there are reasons to keep it out of the mainstream.

There is no conflict between the two. It's always been this way. Their accounting of Russian losses isn't always reported on by anyone and I'm sure their accounting of them is inflated to a degree.

Having said that, no one with skin in this game is in a better position to account for all of these things than Ukraine. There are representatives from countries giving aid to track all the aid that is given who are in Ukraine. This is all happening in Ukraine with all of their officials in country. 98% of Russian Federation officials are in Russia, where it's not an active warzone. Further, comparing Russia's reputation versus Ukraine's in being truthful, Ukraine fares better.

Add to that, there's the point I've repeatedly said about how they have multiple partners to answer to and NATO membership standards to follow. They want to be NATO, they have to walk to walk and talk the talk. Russia has none of that, really.

In summary... I'll take Ukraine stats over Russia's all day, every day and twice on Sunday.

1. Russian news said it shot down a Ukrainian missile over the southern Russian city of Taganrog and that fragments from the blast injured several civilians.

It’s believed to be the first time that Taganrog – some 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the border with Ukraine — has been hit since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“The Kyiv regime carried out a terrorist attack with an anti-aircraft missile of the S-200 air defense system converted into a strike version on the residential infrastructure of the city of Taganrog, Rostov Region,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

Regional Gov. Vasily Golubev also said on Friday in a Telegram post that there was a rocket explosion in the middle of the city.

“There are several victims, ambulances are handling the victims. Four people were slightly injured by broken glass. Information about the damage is being specified,” he said. There have been no deaths, he said.

The Russian Ministry of Health later said 14 people had been injured.

Russian air defense systems intercepted the missile, fragments of which fell on the city and damaged buildings, the defense ministry said.

Too bad the vid shows otherwise.
