Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine. Day: 438/439/440/441 (May 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th)
I have been searching for about 2 hours now and I think I might have found the footage. It was actually a Mi-24 helicopter commander and on his body they found a flight manual for that type of helicopter. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has his listed as one of the many members of the Russian armed forces that carried out "combat sorties from the airfield of the RB "Lyda" to strike the civilian population and infrastructure of Ukraine". This incident took place in Vyshhorod/Vyshgorod, Kyiv Oblast, over the Kyiv Reservior on the very first day of the war. Location This photo, which is a still from the video, was also published the same day. Photo of the wreckage after it was pulled from the water. It was originally posted on DR in the very first post of the very first thread of the invasion but it seems to be lower quality and has a large watermark, so I'm attaching a better, watermark free version here. #aircraft #highprofile

Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine. Day: 438/439/440/441 (May 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th)
Ukrainian soldiers removed a Russian drone out of the sky with what looks like a EDM4S (Electronic Drone Mitigation 4-System). From WIKI: The EDM4S or EDM4S SkyWiper (Electronic Drone Mitigation 4 - System), is a portable electronic warfare anti-drone device made by the Lithuanian company NT Service. It is designed to disrupt small and medium sized UAVs by jamming the UAV's communication and satellite navigation systems with an electromagnetic pulse. The device was first shown by the company NT Service (from Kaunas, Lithuania) in the 2019 Security and Counter Terror Exhibition in London. The device can be carried by one person. The operator points the device at the UAV and activates it to disrupt the UAV's communications out to a range of 3–5 km (2–3 mi), as well as its satellite navigation capabilities. Depending on the UAV's level of autonomy, it may then fall out of the sky, make a controlled landing, return to an earlier waypoint, or continue operating normally. The device can have 4 or 6 antennas. By default there are two antennas for the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands, with a power of 10 W each, one antenna for the GPS 1.5 GHz band with a power of 10 W, and one antenna for the GLONASS 1.5 GHz band with a power of 10 W. The device is made of aluminium, and is shaped like a rifle – including a trigger to activate the device and optics for sighting. It weighs 5.5kg and measures 1050 × 220 × 360 mm with the stock extended (830 × 220 × 360 mm without the stock extended). It is powered by a 24 V battery, which can last for up to 60 minutes. The EDM4S-UA version of the device – at a unit cost of $15,000 – was first used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against Russian separatist drones in Donbas in 2021 as part of the Russo-Ukrainian War. It has since seen further use in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, shooting down Russian drones such as the Eleron-3. In June 2022, Lithuania donated 110 units to Ukraine at a cost of €1.5 million ($1.56 million). #ews

You are crazy :) I assumed it was Ka-52 because in Mi-24 you dont need parachute. Some captions of this video say it was Ka-52. Anyway, since this video was released, all footages showed landed damaged Ka-52s, so it looks like their pilots wanted to avoid ejecting at all cost. Or the ejection was just not filmed since then. I could not find any other information about problems with ejecting system, but if this is true, it would be another issue with this helicopter, that has already many of them. edit: i found video with another ejection https://funker530.com/video/russian-...t-from-manpad/ |

11 May 2023 1. More from the assault in Bakhmut. Some of it has been seen in the clip with Prigozhin, but this is the full video. FPV POV "Bakhmut. Video of the assault on the Orc positions by the 3rd OSHB fighters. Then they forced the Rashists from the 72nd Mechanized Brigade to flee and surrender" 2. "Turkish Otokar Cobra II 4x4 armored vehicles are already performing their tasks under Ukrainian flags at the front." #uastat #fpv #deadru #closecombat #bakhmut #convoy
