I'm starting to think that these losses are attributed to the fact that the orcs don't get rotated to have a good rest & some chow from all the frontline shit & mental fatigue that they would be suffering as their command may see it as a chance for them to fuck off so they just leave them in the middle of nowhere to just fizzle out.

Contractors being paid or not should have dif status, I agree, but in the heat of battle, you won't hear much about politics as they all have the same objective, the politics will come after the war has ended & they will say anything to keep these bodies on the line so they, the invaders, really don't care.
