Because of the way he goes down. He turns to the right, and ducks, plus, seems to move his arms in a protective way. A bullet through the head will drop you straight down. There was a video few days ago, where a Ukrainian soldier took a bullet to the helmet and survived without injuries.
There have been similar ones before, where Soldiers' helmets are shredded, but the guy actually survived with minor injuries. These helmets can stop fragments and even bullets fired from a great distance.


Anyhow, I know you wanted me to 100% agree that the nazis were successful in murdering someone, but I'm gonna give you "probably". Find an extended video where they show the aftermath. Then you will get 100% confirmation of nazi murder from me.

Also, if you want to be a proper Russian, you can take the first 3-4 seconds of this video, and cut it right after the guy ducks down. Add a sound effect and you get another sniper-headshot video out of this clip.

Sadly nope,

Ukraine doesn't control any roads into Bakhmut anymore.
The keyword here is "control".
Yes, Russians aren't physically on the roads, blocking them with checkpoints or mines, but they are denying the use of the roads using Artillery/AT weapons/Tanks etc.
All the roads leading into Bankhmut are well within striking distance of even the basic AT weapons like Kornet. That's why Ukrainians try to avoid the roads leading into Bakhmut and use the roads only at night.
