Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine. Day: 1377-1386 (Dec 1 - Dec 10)
Given the 'bias' of our perhaps seeing more of these stick out than other kinds of videos, of course... I thought I'd heard that the russians moved from large groups to smaller for several reasons: they're a tiny bit harder to spot and can move more easily and quietly together, one ukranian strike might injure or kill fewer at once (since the russians can't seem to stop grouping up for dumb reasons), and it's even LESS likely the russians would be conflicted enough to consider a rescue of just one or two injured soldiers than if a whole platoon or more got chewed up. Some of these are likely the last survivor of their assault squad or whatever. Many of them seem extremely tired, possibly sick / feverish / dehydrated / starving or with one or more 'tiny' nagging injuries, not super situationally aware and a bit slow(er) on reaction, etc. As the russians are running low on tanks requiring infantry screening, and of APCs to get lots of people forward at once, they've shifted to smaller-but-more vehicles such as the 'golf carts', motorcycles and even scooters, which could also pressure soldier groupings downward.

Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine. Day: 1377-1386 (Dec 1 - Dec 10)
They are mostly defensive or logistics units, so, they dont need a battalion to hold the line. A few units is usually fine, because Ukraine is not on the offensive. And during offensive missions, the zerg usually attack with just a few vehicles. That's probably because its 21st century, and the entire battlefield is being monitored 24/7. You cant accumulate battalion sized armies in one place anymore. If you do, uncle HIMARS will come knocking. So, the armies on both sides are dispersed, so it would be harder for the other side to wipe out half a battalion with one missile strike. Even in key areas, like Pokrovs, you can see only a few dozen soldiers attacking and defending. Individual soldiers are making a difference there, and moving the front line. |

One thing I don’t understand is how many of these soldiers killed by drones don’t do anything. They just watch it come in and blow up in their face. There was one video where a single soldier shoots down a drone by a vehicle and lives, at least past that moment. Why don’t other soldiers try and shoot them down as well!?! |

Good to read those two deep and wise posts above, which are more valuable than most of the same repeating battlefield videos. I live close to Ukraine, our local news and commenters says Russian progress slowly but surely and won't stop until take Odessa, thus make Ukraine landlocked. |
