Soldiers carry quite allot of flammable stuff, so its no surprise. Ammo can cook off, backpack contains highly flammable spirits( for cooking/starting fire ), often matches and gas as well( for heating/cooking/fire starting ).
On top of that, some carry explosives, which wont detonate in fire, but burn like petrol instead.
The clothes themselves are often made of synthetic fibers, which burn well
