Here is my honest answer.
I don’t like the sound of “collateral damage” at all, it sounds soulless, sadistic if you will. I’m still looking at the pictures, maps and videos on the second rocket ( which was the first one I think to hit) and seems like it’s landed close to the mall, but wasn’t direct hit, otherwise there would be huge hole in the ground somewhere in the middle of the mall. If anything, this is an admissible error of the aiming radius of the missile, which in this case caused death of civilians and this is a tragedy. Did the Russians hit the mall intentionally? IMO absolutely not.

14000 killed together for both sides aprox 5000 servicemen men from LDNR 3000 Ukr servicemen and the rest are civilians aprox 2000 on Ukr side and 4000 on LDNR side. In 2017 president of Ukraine agreed to install 17 artillery radars for OBSE mission to catch exactly who fired and from where. OBSE reports were on a daily basis and it is confirmed that most of the shelling was coming from Ukr side towards the villages and cities of Donbas. LDNR would do counterbattery fire. Not 100 % always I think, but for the most part this is how it went down. LDNR army consisted of mostly local population with some volunteers from Russia and other countries ( if you check 3 biggest POW exchanges you will see that Ukranian side almost didn’t have any Russians captured I would say 90% or 95% were Ukranians) with this being said, this LDNR guys had families right behind their backs and they tried to hold the front line as far as possible from their homes, to avoid casualties within civil population. Now IMO all those shellings of Donbas were on purpose. Did Regular Army of UA do that? I don’t think so, IMO groups similar to Black waters or Wagners such as Dnepr-1, Dnepr-2, Tornado, Kiyv, AZOV, Aydar battalions etc absolutely could.
My wife actually is from Kremenchug and I was there. In the house we stayed at I had a conversation with the head of the household about situation in Donbas and it was in 2017. He described people of Donbas “ garbage, stupid alcoholics and lazy fucks” meaning they deserved every bit of it… I was speechless and couldn’t not believe what I just heard..
